I don't know if I should be on this group's forum but hope someone can help me. I am 72 and I had surgery and radiotherapy on my breast twelve years ago. The effects of radiotherapy have made, what remains of my breast, firmer but lately I have developed a red patch with a coarsening of the skin which is also hot to the touch. I have been to my G.P. and she thinks it may be a skin problem and prescribed a steroid cream and a moisturiser. I have been applying it for five days to little effect so I go back to see her on Friday. What I would like to ask is if any of you had similar problems?

I would ask for a deja-vu appointment with the Breast Clinic, they are the only people that can hopefully rule cancer out for you.
All you have to do is get through a few weeks of scanxiety once again 
Lovely to see your name pop up, just wish it wasn't for this reason. Let us know the outcome of Fridays appointment.

Wow! I didn't there would be anyone around who knew me but I am sorry to see that you are on this forum. The doctor did say she would refer me back to the Royal Marsden if it didn't clear up so I will let you know.

Only popped over the fence to reply - J is still classed as a NEDdy (no evidence of disease) from 2012
Which is exactly how we hope you will still be after being checked out 
Don't want this to end up being cellulitis etc
