I am currently waiting on a ct scan to check for lung mets. I went to the doctor as I started to have intermittent dull pain in my right lung (cancer side) that comes and goes. No other symptoms. I am now absolutely terrified that the cancer has come back after nearly 12 year. Has anyone else had similar symptoms?
Hi Cim and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
I’m Anne, one of the Community Champions here on the Online Community and, although I'm not a member of this group, I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. Responding to you will 'bump' it back to the top of the discussion list again.
While you're waiting for replies, it would be great if you could put something about your diagnosis and treatment into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
Sorry to hear what you are going through , this is a safe space
I was diagnosed with bone mets 3 years and 3 months ago still doing well , I don’t currently have lung involvement but have a friend through a local group who has had lung and liver mets since 2020 and still doing well ( occasional side effects issues )
im not sure if this helps but if course I hope it has not returned x
Hi Cim, I'm kinda in the same boat. Thought I was cancer free for 10 years in October past only to go to docs with what I thought was a chest infection at Xmas and after various antibiotics , chestrays and a cat scan I was told the breast cancer had spread to my right lung, affected side and my back bone. Last 6 weeks has been such a whirlwind I don't know if I'm coming or going, however, start chemo next week. As for symptoms I only suffered from severe breathless ness for about /4 months to the point I could hardly walk upstairs to bathroom without being totally breathless and the odd niggle in my joints. Praying your symptoms and scans come back clear.
