I start weekly paclitaxel wk comm 8th July for 18weeks. Anyone else doing this if so how's it going? Desperate to keep my hair after loosing it back in 2012! Was going to try ice cap but thought may be hard going on a weekly regime.
Hi
I can't answer your question - sorry!, (didn't need to have chemo.) but I have seen this drug mentioned on the main breast cancer group and the main group is a lot busier than the secondaries group.
It may be worth joining the main breast cancer group as well and if you don't get anyone here who can help, either search of paclitaxel within the group to see what other ladies have already said or copy and paste your question into the group. As I see you posted at 4.14am there is an Awake thread going on this group as well where the ladies support each other during the night (that's if you're in the UK and not posting from a different part of the world of course!)
Kindest wishes,
Hi
I did that regime back in 2017 and towards the end was difficult but it was totally worth it as it worked really well for me.
I didn't did the cold cap but I do know of others and it stopped then from losing all their hair but it really does vary from person to person. I wish you all the luck
Hi
I only had 9 sessions of Paclitaxol and it stopped working for me but found it reasonably tolerable, just nausea and diarrhoea controlled by meds that the hospital will give you.
I used the cold cap which was tough as it adds an hour and a half to your treatment but worth it as I kept my hair. I then moved on to another treatment that they said I wouldn't lose my hair with and it all fell out.
Hope this helps.
Vicky
