Wondering if “Aloe Vera Gel” is a particular brand preparation or if I can just squeeze direct from plant (if I need it) ? Remember it having an unbelievable result last time I burned a finger.

  • Hi

In Australia I believe they recommend it squeezed from the plant but to be honest it’s a bit of a faff so as long as you get a good quality gel ( 99% pure) that would be equally as good.

Thanks. I was gifted a plant a couple of years ago. Despite my usual ability to see off anything that needs watering in the house it continues to grow and produce “babies” many of which have gone to new homes. Currently it’s almost out of control. Feel that maybe it’s been building itself up in readiness Stuck out tongue closed eyes

    Hi Penelope.

    Lovely to meet you.

Thanks for the information. I'm seeing the surgeon on Friday and am hoping that I'll find out what's ahead, as I'm about to complete on the sale of my house. I'll be staying with a friend in Wales, until I find a more permanent home.

Just concerned about the timing really.

Wishing you well on your continued journey..

    Lots of hugs. Xx

    Hi

I was at Barts near St Paul’s.  I got there early  most days so walked from the station to clear my head and get some much needed steps.  I went for 2 weeks. It was tiring commuting as I have worked from home during the lockdown. The team were so friendly and I was  often in the same room, there are several rad rooms with pictures on the ceiling and music playing, they always introduce themselves if they haven’t met you before and  I  often  saw the same  patients  so got to know a few of them too. It always ran on time I was very impressed with the whole dept.
It was mentioned before to take a book or your  headphones whilst you are waiting but I didn’t end up needing this as the wait was quite short.

Hope your infection clears soon and the time flies for you.

  • Hello I’m starting radiotherapy at the Christie on Wednesday for 5 days. Is it just the radiographer that we see or do we see a breast care nurse too? I was just wondering if after the last session anyone talks to me about next steps. Thanks

  • Hello. I was at Christie's. I saw a radiography breast nurse for planning session. I had 15. They do a clinical review on penultimate session but I wasn't needed for it so I requested to see oncologist as never met and got same nurse instead. She was great and checked my boob and advised what next, possible reactions and I wanted to know about prognosis. I'm glad I saw her as last session was just a case of walking out. There isn't really any after care. Not sure how you are travelling but car park C can get busy so I left early and I do advise taking a book. Morning sessions are OK, by the time they get to afternoon the delay can be frustrating. Once it was 2 hours behind. We were all a bit non speaking those of us waiting in waiting area! Good luck x

  • Tired Minion - thank you so much for your reply and advice. Yes I’ll take a book in case I have to wait. I have 3 of my appts after 5pm so it could be a long wait. I hope you are keeping well.
