Hello does anyone have any experiences good or bad they would be willing to share about Zometa as a treatment? I have been offered it to counteract Letrozole treatment but I can't decide what to do for the best.Thank you.

  • Hi

so far I’ve had 3 infusions of Zometa, one every 6 months. I personally have had no side effects at all though I know some people may have had some. I’m more than happy to continue with the infusions. I am also on letrozole and Ribociclib and am tolerating both well. Good luck with your own treatment x

  • Thank you very much for your reply that is good to know. I wish you all the best for the future too it is a hard road we are travelling. xx

  • Hi, I had a reaction to my first one, half a day of horrid flu symptoms. I've had 8 more since and zero side effects.   It's a simple IV procedure, takes no more than an hour and quite straightforward for me. Best wishes

  • I had my first Zometa with chemo so didn't notice it too much.  My second one gave me painful and fidgety legs which started the following evening and gave me a very uncomfortable night and a restless day.  I couldn't sit still for long but it past in 48 hours or so.

My third one made me feel like I was coming down with something,  headache and a bit under the weather feeling.  Tired and achy,  again didn't last more than a day.  Oncologist has advised me to take paracetamol prior to the infusion and regularly as required.

I'm on 6 monthly infusion plus Letrozole and Ribociclib. I think it's worth a couple of days of discomfort!

    Good luck x

  • Hi. I had my 4th one today and each time the side effects have got less and less so I'm hoping for tomorrow to not be too bad. I'm tired and a bit dizzy at the moment but that's all. It doesn't take long to do either.
