Finally after months of faffing by the NHS. I had my first Trastuzumab injection today and have my first paclitaxel tomorrow. Really scared of what the treatment will bring. But what shocked me today was the sheer noise in the treatment area. I was there for 6 1/2 hours today and the noise of the drip alarms was exhausting. Dreading tomorrow as I didn’t have time to get suitable headphones. Am I just unlucky, or is this normal?
Hi Lizb6 welcome to the forum. I dont know if this is one of the aspects of treatment that maybe gets too little attention. I imagine that a lot will be to do with the area that is set aside for treatment and how big it is and how spread out it its or how compact it is if that makes sense?
I imagine though that this may well be the norm and maybe it would be a good idea to get some headphones if you could which would at leats let you zone out a bit during the treatment. xxx
Thanks Granny59. Headphones on order. I was in a different area on friday and it was more tolerable and thankfully I was out of there after 31/2 hours. It was just something that I had never thought about, and because it was the first time I had ever been into the treatment room just very unexpected.
