Hi everyone.

I've had crohns disease for 5 years and just having a flare up as my inflammatory marker is 580. I  wondered if those on cancer treatment have gone onto take steroids to help and for how long. I seem to be getting a lot of indegestion with a throbbing tummy and back, it's so uncomfortable. My ibd nurse said they will get back in touch so I guess their unsure as I'm on tamoxifen having had bc

  • Hi

I'm sorry to hear that your Crohns disease has flared up recently.

I've had a look through the previous posts in this group and can see that recently posted about this too in this thread. Having tagged her I'm hoping that she might be able to pop along to talk to you about her experiences with Crohns and breast cancer.

  • Hi 1212

I have Crohns Diease since 2016 and before chemo I was in remission. After the second or third Course of EC chemo I started to go into a flare. The consultant was very supportive so I started Budesonide which helped and stayed on till final round of Paclitaxel and slowly weaned off. The steroid was so helpful to me

  • Hi Keira17.

Many thanks for the post. Was it your ibd doctor who you referred to for the crohns flare? Also if I can ask when you have a flare do you get back pain aswell as mine is so uncomfortable?

    Keep battling out there

  • When I was flaring I spoke to my oncologist about going back onto steroids and she agreed. My IBD doctor was aware of this via a letter from oncologist.
