Hello, I was called back for more tests following a routine monogram, first one I’ve had. They have found something and took a biopsy. The consultant said she was worried when I asked her what she had found, the section is 1cm but I have absolutely no symptoms, no visible lump or swelling. She found something in my arm pit as well but couldn’t take a biopsy as it is too close to a blood vessel. Everyone seemed very worried, wishing me luck and saying how sorry they were, whilst they haven’t got the results they all seemed to give me the impression it is cancer. Could this have spread so rapidly?
I have suffered with shoulder pain for years and pain in the opposite arm more recently. Are they all linked?
I’m in shock. They hope to have results back on Wednesday
Hi Cyprusfav and a warm welcome to the forum. It’s a great place for support and shared experiences. Many of us have said that this waiting stage is truly tortuous. From your account it sounds like they do think it’s cancer, but try not to jump ahead of what you know atm. You have a suspicious area which would be classed as small. That’s good as hopefully ‘early stage’. The shoulder pain and opposite arm are an unknown atm but my totally amateur guess would be that they’re likely to be unrelated as I don’t think one side affects the other without it also being in that other breast. They would have said already if they were concerned about the other breast. But of course mention it all to them at your next meeting as it will keep playing on your mind. And just to add, I felt better about it all once I knew the nature of the beast and the treatment plan to deal with it.
Try to get through these limbo days before Wednesday by doing nice things and keep away from Dr Google, lots of scary stuff there, much of which is out of date or simply wrong.
Sending love and a big virtual hug, HFxx
