Here’s the place to discuss chemo.
the November thread will gradually sink down..
Hi Judith,
Happy December! Can’t believe we’re in to another month already! Just saw your message on the November thread. Sorry to hear you’ve been feeling a bit low. This is so tough but we can do it! Aside from feeling the rotten side effects Covid doesn’t help as it really does limit contact with close friends & family on the better days. It would still be interesting to know though how the experts decide on surgery first or chemo first. My lump was quite large compared to my small boob size so that was a consideration for me.
I had my 3rd Docetaxol etc yesterday and am very flushed this morning. In my mind I think it because I stopped the cold cap (it wasn’t working) and so the drugs have obviously travelled to my face but the nurses tell me it’s the steroids
I hope your Paclitaxel goes ok today. Thinking of you and sending hugs xx
Hi Daydreamer I found the steroids made my face red and hot even before I went in for the docetaxel infusion. I hope you are feeling okay today. I had my chemo first to shrink the lump,as it was HER2 and in my upper inner quadrant so cosmetically sensitive according to the surgeon. The lump has gone!
Judith I hope you have a treat as well as the Pacltaxel.
I have finished my IV chemo (hooray) but tomorrow is my first sub cut Herceptin injection. I’m still on crutches but improving daily. I did the washing up today and sorted through the vegetable draw and compost bucket. DH has been in charge in the kitchen for 5 weeks and has done a fantastic job but it is nice to be able to help again. Except I can’t carry anything yet.
I have started exercising and have found a physio and a personal trainer who I can work with after my lumpectomy. I feel so much more positive for having a plan. New Year new me!
Best wishes to all
Kate
Hello GOldengriller,
sounds as though you are making great progress, and it must feel good to be able to help with household jobs again.
And also brilliant news the lump has gone! Those gruelling weeks of docetaxel were so worth it.
Personal trainer is a brilliant New Year plan. You are definitely taking back control again!
Hope your dose of paclitaxel went okay today Jejke and you are not feeling too down. It is hard to keep going at times but we will get through this. I have my next dose of paclitaxel on Thursday.
Sending hugs
Thanks everyone for the encouragement. Yesterday went smoothly. Managed a good sleep despite steroids with the help of nytol. Creating a long list of things I want to get done today while I feel ok, but probably won’t manage more than 1or 2!
Good luck tomorrow Hollythecat.
have a good day everyone.
Judith
Hi Golden Gorilla.
It just seemed odd as usually the steroids have the opposite effect, make me pale and light headed. Still a little red faced today but remembered, although I was prescribed antibiotics to help with the pertuzamab acne like rash, my onco had also said to take antihistamine to help with any other rashes and they seem to help.
Glad to hear you are feeling positive for the new year and a new you. And hooray for finishing IV chemo. Well done! x
Morning Judith,
Glad to hear yesterday went smoothly and
a half decent sleep really does make the world of difference!
Have a good day x
Hollythecat; will be thinking of you tomorrow x and good luck to all having treatments this week x
