    Hello Daydreamer6,

I’m not too bad thanks.  Still struggling with tummy problems but gradually getting my strength back and able to eat a bit more.  I feel I’m on the countdown to the next treatment now.  How are you doing?

    Judith

  • Hi Judith

Sorry to hear you’re still struggling with your tummy, I wonder if they might adjust your dose or something next time. I know you’ve been to the hospital and been looked over but even so. Must be something they can do!

Similar to you I am on countdown to next treatment. Energy levels are better and I actually managed to do some work from home this morning (I’m office based) It was nice to do something ‘normal’.

Hope everyone else is doing ok. I thought I saw an update from Golden Gorilla, but can’t seem to find it now..

  • Hi Daydreamer you did see a message from me but after Northerner posted the thread hints link I realised it would be best for that to be at the top of the thread not my wittering so I deleted it!
I am okay but a bit grumpy. I am hobbling about on crutches with my broken leg feeling useless. My last chemo has been delayed to next week which is a mixed blessing. It’s  nice to have some respite from it but I will be glad to get it finished. My operation will now, Covid willing, be the week before Christmas. My holiday in Cornwall is now cancelled due to lockdown. It’s hard to stay positive when everything is a bit shit! But a nice friend came round today with some Quality Street and I have pigged out on cheap chocolate. This too will pass!
Judith glad you are gaining strength when is your next dose? Mine is next Wednesday and as my picc line got pulled out during my recent hospital stay I will have it through a cannula.
    love and strength to all

    Kate

  • Nothing wrong with a bit of wittering & not surprised you’re feeling grumpy Kate, I would be too and it sucks that on top of all that your holiday has been cancelled, but glad to hear you have a lovely friend who brought you chocolates.

As much as we get told to ‘stay positive’ I’m sure we’re allowed the odd day to feel rubbish but hang on in there!
It may be delayed but only one more chemo to go!!

    Hello Kate

keep your chin up!  It must be hard to keep positive with so much rubbish going on for you.

my treatment is on Tuesday afternoon, having a port fitted on Tuesday morning, so will be a long day but productive we hope.

i had my first treatment through cannula and it was ok. I almost wondered whether I didn’t need port but am going to have it.  I’ve had lymph nodes out from both sides so neither arm is ideal for cannula.

Daydreamer6:  pleased you managed some work this morning. It’s good to start to feel a bit normal again.  I went out for coffee, then planted bulbs this afternoon.

then went round in circles trying to add an email account to Outlook. I’ve done it before but this one would not work.

    love and hugs everyone

  • Hi Northerner, thanks for starting the thread.

I've finished the 3 FEC treatments and am now on the countdown to the first herceptin and docetaxel next Wednesday. I'm really not looking forward to it after reading about the side effects on here. Has anyone NOT had too bad side effects on it? Is the diarrhoea a definite? Also, the pain that people talk about, is it from the docetaxel or the pegfilgrastim (pelmeg)?
