Fat grafting after a mastectomy?

Since my mastectomy in November 2023, and second operation in December 2023 to remove a rejected expander, I've had constant pain in the ex breast area due to adhesions. In my introductory post a while back I listed all the treatments I've tried to ease the pain. No success. On 14 April I'm having a fat grafting operation. Fat will be taken from my tummy and inserted into the ex breast area with the intention of loosening up the adhesions and eliminating the tight and pulling sensation. Has anyone tried this and if so how did it go?

  • Hi sorry youve gone through so much discomfort. I had never come across fat grafting till I had a recurrence 2025 in an old LD with implant reconstruction. I was offered fat grafting for  lumpectomy capsulectomy and implant replacement which has left me with all sorts of lumps, bumps and dents. I didnt realise fat grafting could help with discomfort. Im back to see the surgeon in July. 12 months after surgery.

I hope you get a solution for your problems.

BTW Amytriptyline is very helpful for any pain caused by irritated nerves Xx
