Hello all,
I am new to this all as a close family member has found dimpling and a lump.
Has anyone on here experienced the dimpling?
Many thanks
Hi,
I experienced dimpling on my breast which led to me getting it investigated. I was told when the nurse examined it that there was a lump but I could never feel like.
I would recommend that if they haven’t already to go to the GP and ask for a referral. It could turn out to be nothing but least you have the peace of mind once you have had it looked at.
hope this helps.
Thanks
My wife had dimpling no lump the Dr couldn’t feel any thing but sent for a mammogram as a precaution. She has Stage 1 but as it been caught so early the prognosis is good. Please get dimpling checked as we only realised it was a symptom after reading a newspaper article. Best wishes x
Hi, Firstly, well done for your family member for noticing the change in their breast - so many people just don’t check. Like I noticed a small indentation or dimple and got a GP appointment a few days later. They referred me to my nearest Rapid Diagnostic Centre for investigation with mammogram, ultrasound and biopsy. I couldn’t feel any lump but the consultant did on examination.
As dimpling is one of the symptoms to get checked out, I’d definitely suggest your family member gets their GP to have a look and refer them under the two week referral scheme. As previously mentioned by Ni1, the sooner they get it looked at, the sooner they’ll stop wondering what it might be.
I wish your family member all the best and hope they have a good outcome

Hi , As others have advised please ask your family member to contact her/his GP and hopefully be referred from there to a breast clinic . Thet are still open even in these covid times and are able to do various tests as needed. The staff are specially trained and in my experience very professional and supportive. It may turn out to be nothing of concern but putting it off will only cause more worry Sending hugs
