I had a mastectomy 2 years ago, followed by radiotherapy and now on Femara. I recently had a small lump removed from the same side as my mastectomy, when the results came back there had been a mix up, they reported the atypical cells but also on silicone implants. which I'd never had. My Surgeon recalled the tissue and it was looked at by another Lab, the results are now in and reported as atypical cells which he said is due to the radiotherapy damaging the cells, wouldn't the cells be repaired after 2 years? My other concern is how do I know after the initial mix up its my tissue that's been looked at?
Hi peterawake
I can't answer your questions but I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet. By replying to you it will 'bump' your post back to the top of the discussions list where it'll be more easily seen.
I can see that you also posted the same question in the ask a nurse section of the community and I wondered if you knew that you'd had a reply from one of the specialist nurses. If you haven't seen it clicking here will take you straight to it.
