Hi.  I’ve just been told my secondary breast tumour in my spine has grown.   This is the first time in four years it’s grown but I might have to have radiotherapy.     I’m really worried that this is the start of the end.  Has anybody else experienced this.     Andrea

  • Hi Andrea

I'm sorry to read that you've just discovered that your secondary tumour is growing and I can understand what a worrying time this must be for you.

I can see that you posted something very similar to this a few days ago and have had a reply so I thought I'd suggest that you also post in the secondary breast cancer group which I can see you're a member of. Doing that will put you in contact with others who may be able to share their experiences with you.

They also have a thread called positive secondary breast cancer stories which you might like to have a look through.

When you have a minute, it would be great if you could pop something about your journey so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

    Hey lovely,

It get so scary doesn't it! Sending you a huge hug. I was diagnosed with secondary about 2.5 years ago now. I've had previous growth & progression & another scan later has shown shrinkage & the disease seems 'stable' . It feels never ending at times doesn't it. But just because it's grown a bit doesn't mean it won't stop. What has your oncologist said about treatment ect? XxKissing heart
