Hi :) newbie here, not much of a techie mind either, not finding the site very easy to navigate, doh!
Diagnosed BC, her2+, oestrogen fed, 5 lymph nodes affected, mastectomy done in March, just started chemo.
Completely out on a limb, struggling with it all.
Have just realised I probably shouldn't be using nivea soft moisturiser. :/
Can anyone advise me on a safe alternative please.
Many thanks :)
Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community
I'm sorry to read that you've recently been diagnosed with breast cancer and it's no surprise to hear that you're struggling with everything at the moment.
The community is divided up into cancer specific groups so could I recommend that you join the breast cancer group where you can ask questions, share experiences and get support from others who are living with this type of cancer.
To join just click on the link I've created and then choose 'join this group' on the page that opens. You can then introduce yourself and post questions after selecting 'start a discussion' and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.
When you have a minute it would be really useful if you could pop something about your journey so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Edit Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
If you need any help finding your way around the site just reply to my post and I'll do my best to help
x
Hi
Your name says it all, and for the vast majority of BC patients there is one to look forward to
Welcome to the Mac Community, lets see if we can help you navigate your way around
There is a very active (and friendly) Breast Group here you can check out and join - It has a regular monthly chemo discussion so keep an look out for the May Chemo Club there.
You can ask about recommendations for body moisturisers there but from what I have noticed most go for those that are SLS (sodium lauryl sulphate) and Paraben free. Sorry I'm a fella so have no idea if Nivea contains either of these, but they should be listed as ingredients if they are used.
If you get stuck finding your way around, there is a 'Help' button at the top of the page for info about the community but you soon get used to how it all works.
Hope this is of some help for now, take care, G n' J
Hi, my partner uses Udderley cream moisturiser it was recommended by his consultant because he has a terrible rash after each chemo session although this is a good thing because we know chemo is working.
you can purchase this off amazon, my partner says it really helps him
hope this helps
