Are you having trouble sleeping?
Sleep problems may be caused by how you’re feeling emotionally, or as part of the side effects for cancer treatment. If you find it hard to have a good sleep, you’re not alone. The Online Community is here to support you 24/7.
“Getting a cancer diagnosis is extremely stressful, and that brings a whole load of emotions, and lack of sleep certainly does not help. I think many of us have periods of insomnia. I experienced a long period of not sleeping. I could go off to sleep quite quickly, but after an hour I would find myself wide awake again, and would spend the rest of the night getting frustrated because I couldn't sleep."

What a great idea for a thread. I often had trouble falling asleep, especially when I had been diagnosed but was waiting results, my brain was in worry overdrive. Some of the mindfulness apps (like Headspace) helped me, as does slowly breathing and counting backwards from 1,000! It would be great to know what ideas others have to help get to sleep. Best wishes
Afternoon Steve (Stevecam)
Wow!! it's a good job I have a wander round the Community to keep an eye on you lot!! You do know you are in the General Cancer Chat group and not the Prostate 4.00am chat thread?? .
Anyway that's what this thread's for and yes Oldham won the battle of the roses last night at York. We are at Wembley on Sunday 1 June and we play the winners of tonight's Semi Final - It's The Vegans v The Shrimpers (sort that one out!!).
Best wishes - Brian.

Hello Steve (Stevecam)
Yes, absolutely. Sunday 1 June I will be there.
This thread is a new idea - I am going to advertise it on our group, next week in conjunction with a blog on it so as they say in advertising "watch this space".
Kind regards - Brian.

Greetings all.
I was in another thread and kind of bemoaned that sleep and myself don't have a great relationship. I opined that although some sleep would be welcome, the kip demon doesn't want me to have any at all!
Anyway, a message popped up about this forum, so here I am. If you'd like to have a shufty at my profile it explains why I joined the community, and I soon discovered that people here are more than fantastic - informed, patient, super supportive, I could go on, but reckon that's enough for now.
I'll be checking in regularly and if any other midnight oil burners are about in the twilight hours, I'm always up for a chunter.

Fancy meeting you here, Gill.
Hi all, I was told on Sunday that I almost certainly have a tumour on the side of my tongue, rather than the ulcer I'd prayed for.
Still in shock, and it's sometimes making 3am feel like the loneliest place in the world. So this thread is very welcome.
Hi you.
Suuurely you're not having problems sleeping? Just kidding, honestly.
Hey, I knew a little bit about Bruce Dickinson's travails but not a great deal. I'm going to have a gander about what he went through and I hope you enjoy the book, too. Let us know what you think when you've read it, please.
I'm out in the garden at present, looking like a Gorgon through, yes, lack of sleep and blubbering my eyes out earlier.
Oh, the joys...
