My mum has been diagnoised with lung cancer she's waiting on her biopsy before she starts radiotherapy as they don't think she would survive an operation with her breathing as she has empasemia she had call a few days ago saying they have found something in her lymph nodes near her groin I'm literally in pieces with all this and just wondered is it normal for me to be feeling the way I do I'm snapping at every one constantly crying (when mum is not around) if I go shops or nip out I feel sick for leaving her... I've given up my job and my home to move back with her and look after her as I can't bare the thought of her being alone and her mind doing over time.. She has 7 of us children but if my sister wants to take her out I get defensive and get upset for leaving me I feel like I don't want to leave her side by I think that's my own selfish reasons... I'm a very protective over her and the though of losing her makes me not want to be here anymore I don't feel like I could live on without her... I just want all these feelings to stop x
Hi , it’s normal to be distressed but you do seem to on the strong side of reaction. I’d suggest you see your GP to get support for yourself. It can’t be helping your mum or your siblings to have you being so possessive and it’s clearly very upsetting for you too. Do call our helpline 0808 808 0000 and speak to one of our experts. They are very understanding. I’m out and only on my mobile just now but later today I’ll post some links to help you understand your emotions.
Love and hugs,
LoobyLou
If you find dust in my house, write your name in it. When the signatures overlap I'll get the polish.
