Well, I still have a kind of depression hangover from yesterday, not helped by my GP forgetting to put my anxiety on my fit note as well as my cancer. It probably just slipped his mind but the DWP get picky about things like that. So guess what, I got even more anxious! BF is helping me sort it out today but I feel as though I have a big tangled ball of yarn where my brain ought to be, I've had three cups of coffee this morning. I probably should have eaten breakfast but I couldn't whip up the enthusiasm...
Given the worst news ever last November that my dad had terminal cancer of the Gall Bladder and into his liver after no warning no illness he just turned yellow. We went before Christmas to his Oncologist who thought dad was a good candidate for chemo and if everything went well could have possibly another 8 months. We had an amazing Christmas making wonderful memories and are grateful for this time.Middle of January Dad took a turn for the worse and 3 days before his chemo was due to start caught...
I'm trying not to get too excited, but it's hard not to celebrate right now (and I'm not resisting - sitting here by the fire drinking wine!). My husband and I travelled up to Christie's today to hear the results of the CT scan I had last week, at the mid-point of my 6 months of chemo. And the news is very good: I have three marker enlarged lymph nodes: one in my neck, one between the spine and the aorta, and the third is the left common iliac node (in my pelvis). Well, the one in...
On my 2nd mug of coffee and I'll start getting ready to go to the Christie in about 30 minutes. I'm starting to feel anxious, but I don't know if that's the prospect of sitting in the waiting room today or the treatment itself next week.
I don't want to go there, I don't want my weekend disturbed by a stranger, the district nurse, coming into my home. BF will be there of course but I can see myself being on tenterhooks until he/she gets there and staying unsettled for the whole weekend...
My sister, Michelle (aged 46) has a life expectancy of <6 months. Before she becomes really ill, I would like to try and fulfil some of her wishes. Apart from www.honeyrosefoundation.org.uk Does anyone know of any UK charities that are willing to help
Hump Day! LOL!
I was in a hurry to get to the hospital this morning so I just grabbed a coffee and banana and stuffed a bag of S & S crisps in my bag along with the dextrosol. Unfortunately I splooshed a tad too much milk in my coffee so I'll go without tonight. Swings and roundabouts. On the way back I dropped in at B&Q and then my GP to pick up my prescription.
I got home around 12 and decided I was hungry and wanted a big lunch. After running around all morning I deserved it.
Chicken...
We had an appointment today with Mr ENT. I wasn't overly concerned either as H has continued to progress each week and with little sign of any set backs. So it was ok sitting in the waiting room and my stomach managed to behave itself. It normally turns and churns and adds a feeling of nausea to it just to make it interesting but today it was well behaved.
Mr ENT had a good grope around H's neck and a good rummage in his still very sore mouth but was happy with his progress. We had the full...
This morning I was back on bananas with rice cakes for breakfast. I know, any moment I'll start singing "Tradition" from Fiddler on the Roof as well.
Right now I'm waiting for a phone call from the Christie to tell me where I need to be on Thursday and when, and the same again for Monday. I mustn't forget to ask what time the District Nurse is coming to give me the injection(s) at the weekend. I'm not sure if it's one or two needles, but I don't want to be slug-abed when he/she arrives...
