Yesterday was very quiet and so too boring to justify an entry of its own. BF had to go into work for a few hours in the afternoon, but if he hadn't he would have been upstairs playing games anyway. It was a bit too damp to go anywhere on the bike for fun.
So instead I spent an hour and 75p "admission" "wandering" around an online boot sale. I didn't buy anything but it was still 75p well spent, almost like the real thing but without the noise, crowds and feeling obliged to buy things...
After four weeks of headaches, 5 GP visits, 3 NHS Direct calls, 1 out of hours Dr, an Eye Test and finally a visit to A&E ... my beautiful 22 year old daughter was rushed to Addenbrooks with a suspected brain tumor.... Within 6 days the operation took place to remove as much of this as possible.... this was the size of a satsuma in her frontal lobe...
The operation was a success and only a small amount of tumor and microscopic tissue remains... diagnosis revealed that tumor was rare and a lower...
Yesterday was a perfectly lovely day, and I decided to take the dog up Corndon Hill, the highest mountain (ahem, it's just a little pimple really) in east Wales. In the old days (ie pre-chemo) I could do this walk from the house, there and back in about 3.5 hours, but sadly I don't have the puff or muscles to do that at present, not to mention the perfect excuse of the dog's arthritis and increasing years, so I drove to the base of the hill, which makes the walk not much more than an hour, but...
I have a relative that has a Glioblastoma Brain Tumour that is very aggressive and need to help and advice. If you could help that would be fantastic:
*I would like to know what to expect
*What should we be asking the doctors to ensure that we do not miss anything vital, sometimes you go blank when you are in the room and I want to ensure that I ask everything that is needed to ensure then get all the treatment that is needed.
*How long does treatment normally take to start, everything seems to...
dont know what has happened today but just want to eat - trouble is none of the stuff i can manage seems very filling - managed to stay awake all day and a longer walk with the dog this afternoon which will help me sleep later. Have asked my Doctor to consider reduction in pain relief through syringe driver just to give me a physical step towards weaning myself off the oxycodene (am currently on 40mg per day and have asked for it to be reduced to 30mg next week) - got to get these tubes out of me...
So, there were no more deep depressions last night. Obviously that bit of self indulgence helped. I took my thyroxin at 8am this morning and went back to sleep until 10am when my alarm went off again to remind me to take my pregabalin.
I have a small and malformed left kidney that gives me problems from time to time. I never even noticed it until a few years after I developed diabetes, and then the two of them got together and I landed in hospital with a temperature so high it almost killed me.
...bit of a bump today as boredom set in after the busy day yesterday. Lack of taste also made a trial of which coffee tasted better fail as all tasted of nothing much, I really hope the taste buds come back some what, I never really appreciated spending money on some tasty stuff. Even a chewy mint had to be aborted mid swallow as too big (even when chewed). Forced myself out to take dog for a walk in the rain but lack of real exercise has hip flexors irritating me now and i am only walking!). Difficult...
