Hello everyone it's been a while since I wrote a blog here as we've been super busy taking dad on trips and making lots of memories.
so to update Dad in the last month has really deteriorated especially with fatigue. He tried to stain there out door seating set the other day and only got quarter of a chair done and had to stop. He's sleeping alot now and getting shaking in his arms and legs alot. I am coping better at the minute and trying to enjoy the little things but I find it so hard...
Hi anyone fearing chemo
I was diagnosed with BC 1st October and had 1st session of Herceptin and FEC yesterday.
First part of day was having portacath inserted and 2 hours later the Herceptin - promptly fell asleep. Woke just before the chemo started and although couldn't help thinking how can I be so calm whilst having poison infused into me Kim my nurse was chatting all the way through. All finished feel asleep again.( May have even fallen asleep mid sentence with my husband). Only had slight...
I met my Oncologist last week after seeing my Breast Consultant. He seems a nice man. I am going to have a Portacath and I have signed a form to consent for a wig company to get in touch. I really thought that as I was recovering from the wound infection there would be no chance of my chemo starting before Christmas............... I was stupid, he wants to get one in before.
This week I have made an appointment to have my Mirena Coil removed, have a flu jab and a wig fitting. I was actually feeling...

I work all day so don’t see dad until night, mam requires a haircut so my wife will sit with him so she can get out. My wife is not a ‘coping’ person when it comes to the sick, she struggles when I am under the weather and she is deeply upset at the situation with dad. We talked the other night and she doesn’t want to see him once he passes, I am not sure I could not be there during and after his final moments with us but I would never push her into some that make her uncomfortable. Don’t get me...
The swollen arm episode could have happened at a better time, I must say. My Canadian brother was staying for only 6 days, and two of them we spent mostly in A&E at the local hospital! In fact at one time we thought we were going to have to say our goodbyes while I was sitting on a trolley covered with monitors, drips etc. Luckily that didn't quite happen. Visiting A&E is the most dispiriting experience. You spend hours and hours siting on a hard chair in a waiting room, in our case half...
Mam got the hospital bed put in the living room, it’s nicer now that people can sit and be with him. Strange but sometimes he doesn’t know what’s going on, and then he sleeps most of the time but I never liked the fact that he was alone in his bedroom.
It’s strange to know that he will never leave that bed again, air compressor buzzing and mam consistently trying to move it to make him comfy, he still manages a sarcky comment for her to leave it alone even tho he gets confused...
