Lots of really really sad tears today. Not for any particular reason, but just incredibly sad. I'm just wondering when the tears stop. I'm waiting for them to stop. I'm waiting to stop grieving. I'm waiting to stop feeling hollow. I'm waiting for something to feel truly worthwhile. I wonder when I will stop having that feeling of dread inside when I deliberate my future. Im pushing on as I have no alternative but I feel like life is happening to everyone else but me. I'm ashamed of myself sometimes...
Hi Ladies,
Can any Ladies tell me where to buy a soft hair brush for my rapidly thinning hair. I was lucky enough to keep my hair after treatment for DCIS breast cancer but age and Thyroid problems are causing my hair to thin and my scalp to become sore. Know there are a lot of ladies undergoing Chemotherapy who have lost or are losing hair so hope you don't mind if I ask.
Take care everyone , love and hugs Pat xx
PRIMARY PERITONEAL CANCER I would love to hear from an expert who understands this rare cancer. I was diagnosed six weeks ago with terminal cancer of the omentum poorly differentiated and assumed to have been generated by a primary breast cancer I had exactly a year ago, but following further investigation of the biopsy, which I am told was sent "all over the place" I have now had a confirmation that it is instead a Primary Peritoneal Cancer. It is, I am told, still terminal and particularly as...
Hi I'm new to the online community.
My partner was recently diagnosed with lung cancer.
Does anyone know of any hospitals for cancer that I can transfer him too x
To blog or not to blog? I’m usually fairly private and prefer to keep my own council. But cancer is a big deal, hacking into so many of our lives. And seeing as writing is one of my greatest joys and this platform is particularly for those of us affected by cancer, perhaps writing about entering this brave new world, will be a positive thing. Like a travel diary perhaps. See I’ve talked myself into it; clearly easily influenced.
Just to warn you though, having just re-read this first post which...
Recently I have found out that my mother had breast cancer at first I didn't want to tell anyone and keep all my feelings to myself but it felt like I was drowning in deep water and all of a sudden I would burst and act out of control
Shortly after we found out she had to go for an operation and I was completely worried and panicking
Her operation went ok but a few weeks later we found out it was infected and she had to go back to hospital
She is ok and so will your mum...
Today I had a CT scan.
I have had several CT scans now and am used to them but today for the first time I broke down.
The poor woman putting in the cannula for the contrast dye was so concerned she had really hurt me. She had because she put it in my wrist (chemo has a lot to answer for) as that was the only vein she could find but that wasn't why I was crying.
I cried because I was suddenly faced with finding out. Waiting to find out all over again if I have cancer. Well, I know I have cancer...
Things aren't better. Went for my radio appointment yesterday was in tears nearly the whole time. Played golf today was enjoying it too, playing really well but then went really tired. First sign of it catching up with me. Just about finished with a decent score which was a bonus. Had lunch then went to the bank, then to the pub where I am starting working tomorrow then to radio. Feet were agony as usual and now my knees too. Picked my son up from his nan's (Dad's mum) and went back to the Hell hole...
On May 14th 2016 , 11 dockers decided to run the Nuclear Rush Race. This is a 6K race over 55 obstacles while wading through mud and lots of it. I organised it but once it was all set up , i thought to myself why not run for charity. We have only been working together 3 years as it is a newly built dock but in that time we have already lost one great colleague to cancer and another great colleague is fighting it now.
I also thought back to when my Father in Law had cancer and how great the Macmillan...
