I had a follow up appointment with my surgeon today. The lump is gone, it was 14mm and clear margins so no more surgery. Confirmed it is grade 3 but not what stage. SNB showed small amount of cancer cells in the sample - could have lymph node clearance or radiology. I was told before that it was ER+ and need hormone therapy but test is being redone. Now being transferred to Oncologist to decide treatment plan. Appointment will be after Christmas. Going a little loopy waiting for decisions...
I have always written a diary, even before my diagnosis and I have continued with it over the last 15 years but this blog is different - my paper diaries can be read by my daughter and my husband after I am no longer with them - they will however never read this blog and that means that I do not have to self edit myself something which I have been known to do in my diary and only since I had my diagnosis.
Once you have been told your cancer is terminal there is no going back from that - I know...
It’s been a pretty tough week, but I’m definitely feeling like I’m through it and have come out the other side feeling good.
I went in to hospital to start my FCR on Monday and had a reaction to the Rituximab. Apparently it’s quite common, although me being me I decided to have a severe reaction. My blood pressure dropped suddenly and I passed out. I was kept in overnight for monitoring and was restarted on Tuesday in the ward. A scary day on Tuesday waiting for the same thing to happen again...
Last blog post was about what a Trachelectomy is. This blog post is about my own Trachelectomy or at least the surgical part of it and the hijinks that ensued. Ooh, you are lucky things! To be fair, as I was unconscious for most of it I don’t know how long this post will be. I am planning on doing a post-Trach post (that’s a lot of posts) separately.
Here is the Jolly Christmas Postman.

Why? Why not? (Because there were lots of posts… get it? Get it?! What do you mean it is neither...
It's been 10 days since my surgery. The dressings are off and the scars ate ugly. It looks like the front of my breast was chopped off with an axe. It is hard to look at my image in a mirror. It seems so drastic when I feel so well. I won't get my results for another few days on 20th December. Will I need more surgery? Did they get clear margins? Will I have chemo and/or radotherapy? All these questions going round my head. Should I go back to work while I am waiting for treatment to start...
Since the first time I saw my wife I knew.
She was going to be her husband friend and partner forever. We have been heart and soul in love for years. Until the past few months. I first I thought I had done or said something to put her off. She has/had been moody, and short with me. So I did what I thought I was suppose to do and did what I could to fix her issues with me.
Still she was not happy and in some cases down right cold. The just awhile ago always tried and started to put on the weight...
First round chemo started on Tuesday 12th Dec. Saline overnight and then the Cesplatin and Pemetrexed intravenously on the Wednesday. At first no real changes. Thursday afternoon the queasiness started. Suggested trying our cruise bands we use when the sea is rough. They seem to have done the trick. It's now day 3 and although there has been fatigue (but that was there before) the sickness has been kept at bay. So with the tabs and the bands he's doing quite well. Appetite is good I have...
Still no confirmed plan of action ie chemo or surgery. Trust me to be a complicated case, because primary cancer in my one and only kidney and 4 others in pancreas, they now need to speak with the dialysis team. They want to go in and attack all tumours in one go, as I saw my 3rd different doctor now I’m not feeling very confident, actually this was my 4th appointment not 3rd. It’s been a month since my 1st ultra Scan when first saw tumours, so nothing more to report except another waiting game....
I honestly will be glad to see the back of 2017, it’s been a terrible year, but I also have to say it could have been far worse.
Since January I have known I was battling something, I knew something was very wrong with me. I found I was always very tried and losing weight but also the fact that I was losing interest in things. Things I normally enjoyed. I had no idea that 6 months later I would have the lose of our horse
he was a proper cheeky boy and a sod at times but he did have some lovely...
