Artificial sweeteners may cause brain tumours?

Internet evidence on some sites is damning.

Do you drink diet soft-drinks, chew sugar-free gum, or use artificial sweeteners in your hot drinks?  (I'm guilty).

I've been reading about Aspartame and Phenylalanine. It seems there is a problem, but evidence is inconclusive.

    Telgirls dance with cance.....28

Well after my first session of chemo on Monday the week has been a bit up and down, not too sure how I am supposed to be feeling still havent read the whole book of rules and regulations that goes with this.

First few days felt fine, a bit spacey but other than that fine, kept waiting for it to hit me but nothing seemed to be happening. Then major disaster yesterday....my wonderful hubby bought me a new wedding ring for christmas but unfortunately it was a tad too small so have kept it safe to have...

    Karen's New Year Catch-Up #12

    New Year’s Eve - Monday 4th January

Antibiotics finished on New Year’s Eve, I was discharged and moved straight into my new home - the staff block at the hospital. Playing it by ear, but think this’ll be my new home til radio finishes on 19th. Too much hassle wondering whether we’ll get to treatment each day; can’t walk to my house from the car because of the snow; 2 hours a day travelling in normal weather conditions…

I ask if we’re allowed overnight visitors...

There is a Vibe in the Soup: Part VIII

You’ll need a big tub of popcorn this time because we have two versions of the script for your entertainment, and for the director’s perusal.
You have only yourselves to blame for encouraging me.
The first is the big-budget version.
The sky is the clear untroubled blue of a blackbird’s egg.  The Meddle/Medal/Mettlesome Wife runs out into a sunlit, snowy landscape to greet an RAF helicopter which lands on the field behind the much improved country dwelling  - there...

Sally, Sally ...Pride of our Corrie!!! (Well I am from Rochdale!)

Funny isn't it, but when you watch soap characters dealing with some kind of trauma ... and let's face it, that's the 'bread and butter' of all soap storylines ... they are normally played for effect - over the top, overly dramatised, overly sensitive etc.

I, probably like millions of others, have been watching the Coronation Street storyline of Sally Webster's breast cancer unfold with interest.  I must admit, at first I felt it was rather innappropriate to bring this story...

    thinning hair

When I was diagnosed with breast cancer , July 2006, my main fear was whether or not I would have to have chemo. I was terrified about the nausea  that some people experience and the thought of losing my hair was terrible. I was so relieved when, after my mastectomy, all I needed was Tamoxifen for however long the doctors deem necessary.  I had reconstruction which went extremely well with no problems and I felt extremely lucky and guilty at the same time, knowing what some people have had to go through...

I tried to go to work today but couldn't get the car out of the drive.  I know this is happening to loads of people but I just came in the house and cried.  if Steve had been here he would have sorted it.
