After the tribulations - a calm last week ahead of 4th rchop next Tuesday
Good health - even managed a gentle circuit at circuit training last night
Bowels behaving - and not so tired
So gird up my loins for next chemo with fingers crossed
I believe I am due a reassessment after 4th chemo session - bated breath
Well I've stopped worrying about the appointment on Monday. I keep forgetting Southmead Hospital is brand spanking new and built to deal with future capacity. This is why I'm lucky enough to get my treatment quickly. I don't know what my results will be but I'm determined not to worry unless there is something to worry about. I'm expecting my turbt scab to start shedding any day now. Is it noticeable when it starts? Or is it small bits? I find myself peering down the loo looking for things. ...
Cycle #3 has not been so bad physically as the previous 2 cycles. I stopped taking the drugs after 3 days and didn't feel nauseous after that.
However the ill period lasted longer - about 10 days. Just yucky. As the week went on I became depressed and very low emotionally. I really thought I was going to die. I kept telling myself life wasn't really that bad, it was just the effect of the drugs and yes, lo and behold, I've snapped out of it as the physical effects have finally gone and I feel...
I've had 2 rounds of chemo and daily radiotherapy for 6 weeks. Finished last week - yay!!
My once very thick hair has (as warned) thinned an awful lot. I don't have bald patches but you can see my scalp. Texture is now fine and weak and all colour stripped. I feel like my hair has been stripped of strength, lustre and protein.
I'm currently using baby shampoo and simple conditioner. I've been advised I can now use regular shampoo.
My question is what products do you guys...
I'm finding all this a bit surreal. When I was told I had cancer just over a month ago I cried for a week. Then it settled into occasional bursts, then it stopped. I expected pain and got only mild discomfort. Everything has changed and yet nothing has changed. Now the tumour is out, the catheter is out and I'm waiting to heal and waiting to get my results. I have to make myself rest, stop myself from doing anything strenuous, all the while feeling somewhat of a cheat. My partner has just taken my...
Hi , I am new to the blog. Just wondering if anyone feels like me after breast cancer treatment,9 months ago. (Had chemo& RTP). Thought I would be elated & happy it's now over, It seems quite the reverse! Although health all good, everything is now an effort. Normaly fit & happy prior to treatment. Have very down days now and definitely not myself!
This cycle was postponed by a week and the extra recovery time has been very beneficial for all of us. We've had some lovely family bonding time (during which my middle child learnt to ride her bike with Daddy!!) and my husband and I feel more prepared psychologically for the next cycle. Most importantly, my neutrophil blood count came right up to 3.7 which is higher than it was before cycle 1 (2.2) and well above the threshold of 1.5! Really thankful for this. Good old bone marrow.
I managed...
Oh well, it is confirmed. I have Stage 3 breast cancer, in the blood and lymph nodes too but not graded yet, full body CT scan in couple of weeks, but definitely a primary, which is a good thing. I start chemo in a few weeks, every 3 weeks for 6 months, Herceptin, then surgery, (they are hoping it will shrink enough for a lumpectomy, as opposed to a full mastectomy), followed by radiotherapy and poss more chemo. All in all around 12 months of s**t!!! This forum really helped me to prepare though,...
Had a nice slow walk to the shops yesterday. My dog, Stiggy, was very happy that I could come on his walk. Dean held him, of course. I got a bit tired but it was worth it. It's the eighth day since my TURBT so I'll be expecting to start losing scabs soon, I guess. The rainy season has hit Bristol so no long walks today. We managed a short walk to the local shops between deluges. Waiting for my results is stressful but I'm trying to be as positive as I can. The tumour was completely removed but there...
