I am the 1in 9
My partner has multiple myeloma, he's been in remission for a few months now, but the sex side of things in completely non existent...... we are getting married in a few weeks and I'm just worried this is how it will be forever! I've looked after him for day one of his diagnosis, but I just feel so "alone". I know sex isn't everything but I miss the intimacy as it's been quite some time now!
I has enjoyed a couple of days off work before the Surgery. it was bliss. I walked the dog, I cooked, I read, I slept. Although, I have to admit, by the time I got to Tuesday evening, nerves were beginning to kick in; overtime I thought about the surgery , I felt a bit sick. Neither of us slept well on Tuesday night. Van woke me at about 5am to show me the images of the Grenfell Tower fire. My first, very selfish thought, was that my surgery may be cancelled, as we don't live too far from the site...
So - now ok after weekend scare neutropenia apparently. Maybe a urinary tract infection- results awaited
But feeling good yesterday and today: trip out in Morgan today and even thought about cleaning it - shows I'm feeling better
That said - on penicillin bombs 700mg 3 times a day until Saturday
Still drinking vast quantities of water to avoid repetition. I lose about 5 pounds each night (sweats) but rehaik over the next day
Apparently will have Neulasta (white cell to prevent infection...
Hi. It’s me again. Apologies for not updating sooner but unfortunately (or should that be fortunately) life has got in the way.
First of all, let me update you on my annual walking weekend in Derbyshire. Well I went on the weekend but I didn’t do the 10 miles that the others did. My fitness levels are through the floor at the moment. Getting better, I no longer need to rest after getting dressed and I’m trying to ensure I do some exercise each day. It’s been difficult for the past few days...
Oh dear - I see why I was tired
Saturday morning developed a temperature 38 degrees and called into hospital - here I am 24 hours later full of antibiotic via drip and non stop saline and much perkier! Temp back to normal
Doc gave a stomach injection of white blood cells (?) and another due shortly
Staying in another night to verify ok to go home
A salutary warning to keep tabs on your temperature or things could have been much worse if we hadn't checked in with 38 degree concern
...Hi
I'm a newbie to the site after recently going through what I guess you are all so familiar with; a cancer diagnosis from the blue.
I was diagnosed 5 weeks ago, at second attempt, with large B cell NHL . It is aggressive and unusual in that the largest tumour lies within the pancreas which is why my initial diagnosis was pancreatic cancer. I also had lymph node masses in my neck (very large) and chest area. I have begun, very swiftly, the R-CHOP regime and can expect 6-8 cycles.
My second diagnosis...
My taste in sunglasses has probably not improved, but one of the best bits of getting older is what I call, the in-between dawn. Getting up on a sunny morning before the day begins, making a cup of tea and going back to bed with the laptop!
We’re totally sunshine,
Wall to wall,
The time of the dreadful,
Cleavage fall,
Tissue reconstruction,
No life guarantees,
It’s all now deflated,
A reinstall please?
#LifeWithCancer is still life, even when the air goes out of your boob job and you...
10 days since rchop - after good day yesterday - very tired today.
Blood pressure seems low so checked in with nurse explaining tired etc
Also seem to have lost half a stone in about a week! Have been eating (hard work) maybe it's the lymphoma melting!!
Resting now and drinking buckets of water so up and down to the loo day and night adding to tiredness
Otherwise ok - bowels fairly regular with laxido
