I had a problem with the carers today because they had sent a NEW carer around to help Mo today, at 11.30am. When Mo/I were assessed way back when, I specifially said that I wanted no carer visit BEFORE 1pm, anytime after was fine. The reason being was mo has her meds first thing in the morning and then she usually rests for 1-2hours. After Mo has had a rest she tends to be a lot more mobile and interacts better with people. having a wash,getting dressed etc is easier whereas earlier its more difficult...
So tomorrow, I go off to the Heath (rather be swept off by Heathcliffe but you can't have everything) in Cardiff For the PET Scan (nope, no ducks or dogs will be involved) to be injected with glow in the dark stuff but instead of throwing star shapes I have to sit perfectly still for 90 minutes. . . so I'm taking a book!! I can't have anyone sit with me as I'll be very radioactive so I guess it's another opportunity for chilling out with a book eh?

Doc told dad that stopping sutent because platelet count low (has been dropping apparently over last few blood tests) and potassium low. Will give potassium supplement and may consider putting back on sutent at lower mg than before. Temp still up at 38.
Dad walking around & out of ward with his visitors when they leave him so that he gets some fresh air - so that seems more positive. Terrible diarrhoea though! Occupational therapists seen him and said "oh, you're fine getting around on your own...
Portacath went in today - up at 5.40am and taxi at 6.30am to get us to the hospital by 7.30am.... what an early start!!
The staff were wonderful and very reassuring and cheerful - we met the anaesthetist and surgeon and then my husband was taken to surgery at 8.30.
Whilst he was away I took the opportunity to meet my godson, whom I had not seen for some time as he had been away. We met for breakfast just around the corner from the hospital and it was wonderful to talk about him and what he has...
Dad still in hospital having fallen at home due to weakness arising from infection. Doc can't pinpoint where infection coming from (chest xray clear, urine clear, blood tests not pinpointing). Temperature still going up and down. So now going to "map" heart to see if infection coming from pacemaker/wire (which he' had 10 years). Still on sutent (first cycle 50mg for his kidney cancer with additional tumours on lungs & one on brain). Going to be assessed by occupational therapists to see what little...

I am sat in the staffroom with my laptop and pretending to look busy and studious. Guess I did well managing 3 days without you all....
This is going to have to be short cos I am at work and can't type for long (hoorah you lot say)
What bugs me is I can't see what you lot have been up to or say hi to most of you without going through some long rigmarole of looking up each of you individually. Ho hum.

Had my pre op today before the removal of fibroid next Monday.
Everyone was very nice, especially when I said 'By the way any news on my biopsy?'
Well good news is the biopsy of womb lining is clear - sigh of relief.
Not so good news is that I have to have fibroid and anything else that is removed next week sent for tests so i am not 100% in the clear yet.
BUT having checked on what they are doing sending stuff to pathology is normal from this kind of procedure.
