Well five weeks ago i knew very little about testicular cancer but , you know what . Im pretty hot on it now ha ha . friday morning was weird as three weeks before i was in the GPs office disscussing a lumpy thing i'd found. "oh" said he, "go here." So, last night I spent a long time fathoming out how to get wee in a bottle. I know for blokes it's pretty easy and most women manage somehow, but since my RT, my wee has no direction I think due to loss of fatty tissue or something and it goes absolutely anywhere and everywhere....
Funnels, buckets, cones of cardboard, jugs you all suggested....I never knew you lot were such wee collection experts! Eventually, after several gallons...
This the second time that I have been diagnosed with Hodgekins Lymphoma. The first time I was 15 and living in the Middle East, and now I am 19 and living in Leeds. There have been pros and cons to being diagnosed in two different countries. For example, my tests were quicker and efficient in Oman, and I had my bloods, CT scan, X-ray and biopsy done all in one day! Over here it was a long drawn out process, taking 6 weeks. But the NHS do the best that they can so I will never ever complain!

Pat had his appointment yesterday with the Director of Oncology Dr Kapur. He was very nice. He explained things very well and said that normally Pat would be a candidate for surgery, but that no surgeon would touch him, (his words), because the risk of surgery was higher than the risk with the tumour. This is because of the Heart and Diabetes.The only time surgery would be considered is as a emergency if the bowel becomes obstructed. This does happen occasionally. He said that the injections take a while...
I came on here as I need a little rant. Life is a little difficult at the moment......Dad is not great and when I saw him at the weekend he was really down and fed up. Not surprising. He is still taking the inhibitors but seeing no improvement, the alternative is .....well we all know what the alternative is. How hard to have to choose between having no quality of life because of the side effects and the other. Poor mum is going out of her mind. She gets very upset and keeps saying that nothing...
Its been nearly a month since I have updated you on our daily "normal" life..........
Things are still good with Dave with regards to his check-ups, no signs of its return but still on 3 monthly appointments. He was hoping it would be 6 monthly now as we are nearly 3yrs post op but I'm happy with early ones. He is still battling with his depression and I have found a way to cope with him better so not many low days for me now...yeah!
