Well, I knew things were going downhill before I went to the onc 2 weeks ago.  I walked in and he took one look at me and said 'Do you want that drained?'  It was so apparent..... so gave me the presription for  the new chemo, which I take at home for 10 days, and tried to arrange an asicities drain.  I did say last time I  ended up with a chest infection, so could I have a presription for natibiotcs 'just i n case'.  We don't work that way, you'll have to see your Gp if you have the symptons...

To be or not to be?

I don't know if I should be positive. As I have said previously, the doctor said her type responds well to chemo but it is my mum. Everyone else tells me to stay positive but my mum keeps telling me to think the worst. My nan is having a bad day today and not really eating and she is fed up. Should I be glad the chemo has a good chance at working and hope for the best? Or should I think the worst?

    best friends

you are always there to listen when i need you

you almost feel the pain that im going through

when no one else seemed to recognise

you always stop as though you despise

to see a little girl feeling lost and alone

you wished that you could take me home

to give me a hand when things were rough

cause you somehow noticed that im not tough

you tell me how you really care

and that me and you will  always share

the feelings we keep so close in our heart

even the most painfull that will never depar...

    The last few months

My nan lost her husband barely three months ago. He was technically my Grandad but because my bio father left when I was a kid, he took care of me and I called him my father. The loss hit us all (me, my nan and my mum have always lived together with my dad). We haven't even got to terms with the loss and now my nan's been diagnosed with lung cancer. It is fast growing and has spread slightly to the liver. The doctor says, despite its speed, it often responds well to chemo. She used to smoke but gave...

    mumxx

your birthdays so near and im writting to say

will never forget how you left us that day

tears in our eyes and pain in our heart

i dreaded that day when you had to depart

you are the true love that took us through life

you held us so dear in the middle of the night

you suffered the pain but your smile still remained

and we wont  forget the love that we gained

we are left with regret at what could have been

but cherrish the love that we'd always seen

and now that you'v left i know what...

    Out of control

My best friend has cancer, breast cancer. I tried so hard to live in a bubble, pretend that the scare wasnt happening, couldnt happen to an angel like my friend, not her, then it comes along the diagnosis, prognosis, something I didnt want to accept, something part of me still doesnt want to come to terms with, if I accept it it then becomes real? Its out of my control, all of it, there is nothing there which can be controlled, and it feels very very out of control....
