    My mother

My wonderful wonderful mother has been diagnosed with stomach cancer. She found out last Wednesday whilst I was away on holiday and told me once I had got back.

She is 78 years old and has made up her mind already not to have any treatment. Last year she got me to make a 'living will' for her with me as the executor. She told me in July this year when I went to visit that she was tired and didn't want to get any older. She told me what was in her will, what songs she wanted at her funeral and what...

Wittering on and on and on.......

Just thought i'd do an update on what's been happening. Ian went in for his chemo last Monday and has been in bed ever since. It has really taken it out of him. Up till Monday morning he was able to do some small jobs around the house meaning he had some quality of living. But once I brought him home on Tuesday all he could manage was to just get into bed. I knew he really wasn't feeling well when he asked me if I would do his meds for him. This was a bad sign as he never ever asks me to do...

    Good news. Sutent is working!

Just got back from that interminable hospital waiting! (Surely someone could design better systems.)

However this time it was good news. For what seems like the first time since Christmas, we've come away from the hospital feeling better.

Tony was diagnosed with kidney cancer, "a massive tumour" (15cm) in February & had his left kiney removed at the end of March. He was recommended for a trial of Sorafenib but by the time he was due to start, 'seedlings' in his lungs had started to grow and...

I am very agitated today I found out a family friends mum died last night she was terminally ill with cancer, then just minutes ago I found out a friends mum died last night.  I know it sounds stupid but I believe in the fact that every comes in 3s its how I figured out my friend was pregnant last year as my 2 other close friends were expecting babies and I knew there would be a third and I asked and I was right she hadnt told anyone and was slightly freaked out that I had figured out without seeing...

    Baldies unite.

Hair all gone now plucked up the courage to do it, have got some lovely scarves and hats and have even been out without anything on (my head that is). Next chemo tomorrow at christie,  am doing a group photo with loads of mates on wednesday some who are bald anyway and some kind souls like my Jon and my sons and my brother who have all shaved theirs off in sympathy. Some of jons friends have done it  so they'll be on the photo too.

Thats as long as I'm ok after the next dose of poison. will try...
