It is exactly one month since I lost 80% of my stomach. I've had little blips along the way with eating but usually because I over indulged!
Had my post-op follow up appointment with the surgeon today and he says that I am healing well. He asked about exercise and I told him that I tried to walk a little each day. He suggested cycling, although it's not the weather for it. I never thought that stomach removal would improve my cycling proficiency. Lol.
Anyway, the pathology report showed...
Well, I have lived most of my life expecting a miracle a day. Today is no different.
Must be 19 meds to manage, fitting into time schedules related to meals.
Without so many tough things already in life, how would one do this?
The British Baking Show and Animal Planet, along with Ancestry has entertained me until I can do breakfast, 4 hours past normal.
But, I am fine. Thankful God gave man the ability to figure out so much. A Miracle plus just in that.
Thankfully, the nausea eased off today. Only one more day on the constant anti-nausea meds, then the schedule slows down.
I had focused so much of my life on family, community volunteer, and career--which all flows into one--that I am enjoying watching tv. I like history, which is something I had been too busy making to have time to learn, it seemed.
So, Strange Inheritance, History Channel, Ancestry.com are favorites.
My thoughts are that variety keeps me moving. I would like to go to Jupiter...
I’m going to Jacksonville.
There is a sniper I need to see.
His eyes are keen. His hand is steady. He deals with his target decisively.
He will review the strategies of the battle fought thus far.
He will examine the remains of The Monster’s first offense.
The first tumor.
He will peer into The Monster’s new nest.
He will evaluate the trench that has been created and that harbors the blasted cell mutation.
He will consider a coup de main.
The shot needs to be clear if the The...
Hi, I have joined the group related to my specific cancer, but any lymphoma patient is invited to join, as long as you realize what this group is not seeking. Advice, sharing on T-cell, follicular, etc., will not be shared in my blog, A Miracle Journey. I have had and believe in miracles, with God as the all knowing Father.
my son was diagnosed in August, he has had 3 R chop treatments
He had a pet scan last week results hopefully next week. Most people
we have spoken to who have had lymphoma had B cell. i have been
unable to find much information about T cell and am curious if it would
continue be treated the same as B cell. Any info would be appreciated
Day 19 after first chemo round.
Thankfully the chemo has been quite kind to Norm. He has passed the queasiness and his appetite, although it waned, returned well. In fact on weigh in this Tuesday he had gained 1kg - oh joy !!! He started having nose bleeds on about day 15 - just out of the blue which have now turned into a sticky globbiness that bungs him up. But the most strangest is the sensation he says he feels in his back. He says he can feel a 'pulling' sensation where the pain is.
...Well the last couple of days has felt like being on a roller coaster. on one hand there are so many positive stories about surviving stage 4 colon cancer. i read these stories and feel such hope that Darren (my husband) could survive this horrible disease, In the next breath I look at statistics that are dreadful and my stomach feels like it has a boulder in it.
Yesterday the coli rectal nurse rang Darren to let him know what is going to happen over the coming days. She explained that on Friday the...
