    My husband Darren was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer whilst working abroad.  We now have most of our appointments through, another colonoscopy, cat scan and an added MRI of his liver.  after this is all done we will see the consultants.

    Darren's Gastro/cancer specialist rang last night to see how he was coping with his symptoms and talking through his upcoming tests. it was nice to hear from his consultant, however…

    Well the last couple of days has felt like being on a roller coaster.  on one hand there are so many positive stories about surviving stage 4 colon cancer.  i read these stories and feel such hope that Darren (my husband) could survive this horrible disease, In the next breath I look at statistics that are dreadful and my stomach feels like it has a boulder in it.

    Two weeks ago my life, my family’s and husbands life changed forever.  my husband had a colonoscopy and subsequent CT scan revealed a tumour that was 10 cm in length.  it had invaded his liver, with metastases throughout his abdomen.
