    Fear of losing my marbles

I am very agitated today I found out a family friends mum died last night she was terminally ill with cancer, then just minutes ago I found out a friends mum died last night.  I know it sounds stupid but I believe in the fact that every comes in 3s its how I figured out my friend was pregnant last year as my 2 other close friends were expecting babies and I knew there would be a third and I asked and I was right she hadnt told anyone and was slightly freaked out that I had figured out without seeing...

    Baldies unite.

Hair all gone now plucked up the courage to do it, have got some lovely scarves and hats and have even been out without anything on (my head that is). Next chemo tomorrow at christie,  am doing a group photo with loads of mates on wednesday some who are bald anyway and some kind souls like my Jon and my sons and my brother who have all shaved theirs off in sympathy. Some of jons friends have done it  so they'll be on the photo too.

Thats as long as I'm ok after the next dose of poison. will try...

    It's good to talk!

Glad to report I am feeling better, and have done for a few days.  I didnt get to talk to the Latch social worker as Holly was off school the day she was due and I didnt want her to know anything about it so I cancelled.  So instead, I let it all out to a friend.  I'd already warned her about my frustrations at people trying to say the right thing and it just making me feel worse - and not to use the word NORMAL! - I just needed someone to listen without judging. I was a little wary because this very...

    Want a friend?.....Anyone?......

Well I think Im slowly getting the hang of this site. Came on mid august(with no IT chat experience at all) with an open mind , no real expectations, and now find am drawn back again and again. Been impressed and touched by the support here.Iv blundered through some totally inspiring blogs and postings that have comforted me so much at those dark times and laughed out loud at others.I feel I'm getting to know your personalities and have tried to give a bit of myself too. Have posted on the anal cancer...

    Finding it ha rd

Its starting to hit me that my dad isnt here anymore for the advice and support he gave me. Im missing him so much and im trying to be strong for brandon but i feel as if im spiraling out of control the now. My dad was the one that would tell me how everything is going to be ok and just take it easy. When im worried about brandon he would be there to tell me he will be ok and now hes not. Brandon has became a bit withdrawn the now and wont talk to me about it. I wish i was made of strong stuff like...

Day 12 Bertie Bassetts Return Journey
Another infection free day for Bert. No temp. No Hypertension. No Fluids. Still not eating though he has lost a stone in 2 weeks but at least he is feeling better. He slept most of the day so I managed to get a cardigan knitted for our grandchild due in March. If he keeps this up I will have a whole layette done by the time we are finished with this cycle of chemo. Pity I can't take my sewing machine too!!I could get the sheets and blankets made while he is in.

  • I still don't get it...
I still don't get the peaceful death thing...

When we live with the consequences of cancer I think for sure there is a double-edged sword. On one hand we are given the luxury of time to sort stuff out.  I mean, it's not like we have to live with our partners dying a violent death in a road traffic accident or a sudden stroke or heart attack.

Since Glenn died in July 2009 I am actually starting to think we had such a precious time together.  I think in a way we might have been very lucky to have notice of what was going to happen to him,...
