The 4th Herceptin... if I make it!

It's Christmas Eve babe...  (Opening line to fairytale in New York) ....

I'm delighted to say I'm not in the drunk tank!  Yes it is Christmas eve morning at 6am.  I'm sitting in my nice warm living room, the tree lights are on, the house is quiet and I'm contemplating both the last week and the week ahead.

Last week I took a road trip with my mother.  We went as far as Meigle in Perthshire by way of North Yorkshire with Glasgow and Preston on the way back.  We were incredibly lucky...

    ignorant people

took my mother into town today, we met a few people that we knew, and who know Mum has cancer.  I am extremely angry  that not one of them asked her how she was, felt like we had some kind of contageous disease, has anybody else had this reaction?

    Bertiebassett Dec 23rd

Today has been a very long day as I have been up since 4am Bert woke me up to get him up for the toilet and I could not get back to sleep.

It has also been a very weepy day. The Palliative care nurse was back out and we had a good old weep with her. Then my colleagues from work arrived on the doorstep with a huge Christmas Hamper so there were  more tears.

Bert has had a bad day but he has managed to get to sleep and I can relax for a little while. Hie has lost his appetite which is a shame as he...

    Winter Fuel Allowance
OK this may not be the correct place to put this - in a blog. BUT there maybe people who look here first and don't wander around the site. Thinking about the really cold spell we have been having a little light came on in the dim dark recesses of my empty mind. What if people become eligible for this and don't realise? So here are 3 clicky type links to read about the allowance. Self explanatory I think, and if you can find your way around the Mac site this should be no problem.   http...

Happy after my scan! All Clear

It only seems right to share the good news, doesn't it?

It's been tough until now, but suddenly, since I got the results of my first scan  two days ago, which were all OK, I feel such great happiness. It feels so wonderful.

Exactly this time last year, it was so different. I'd been diagnosed with an advanced stage of Endometrium Cancer .  I had my op a month later and was diagnosed with Grade 111C (of an aggressive type of cancer).  Since then and until the last day of October I've had...
