I had a good chat with the nurses in the hospital yesterday as when i went to see pop i seen a big change in him. The nurses agreed that he is going down fast and said if he really wants to be home nows the best time to take him so im meeting with the doctor at half three today to discuss with him about getting pop home.

I know weve got hard times ahead but with the help of the macmillan nurse we are able to take pop home and i know thats where he really wants to be. So its busy busy busy today...

    Just Unlucky ?

I'm 39 and living with my partner in Scotland.  My father died from a Brain Tumor in his early fifties, my sister was diagnosed with breast cancer last year and is now continuing her remedial therapy after successful chemo treatment.  My brother of 52, died on the 21st of Dec this year from a rare type of Lymphoma.   I feel now is a time for myself to ensure my own wellbeing and do something positive for Cancer treatments and patients.  I've set targets for the coming year with my partner for fundraising...

    Freedom !

Had my last session of chemo on 6th January and oh, did it feel good to know it was finished, (hopefully for a long time, although I will need more at some stage). Anyway, I am feeling good right now and have a CT scan booked for 11th February followed by a meeting with my consultant on the 21st to discuss the results. I am experiencing quite a sense of freedom at the moment, because I have had to have weekly blood tests and chemo each week, for three weeks out of every four since last June and it...

    Friends!!

    Friends!!

There is one thing in life that you can always rely on and guarantee and that's friendship.

I am very lucky to have an impressive number of friends, these friends are always there day and night, they keep my feet on the ground, they listen to my every moan, they cry with me and laugh with me.  They are never too busy to offer advice or "give me a slap with a wet fish".  They never cease to amaze me with their thoughtfulness and kindness.

Since Rich was diagnosed with Lymphoma...

    making the most of time

Well, I was right and chemo begins again on Monday, with another different drug, which means the hospital every day for 5 days, which would be ok if it wasn't 25 miles each way!  then 2 weeks off.  CT scan after 3 treatments, to see what is happening, which means book it after 2 so they can see me before 4!  I'm really getting the hang of this now.  We went to see the oncologist on Thursday then came away to see friends and make the most of time, but after going out yesterday I feel too shattered...

  • Keeping positive
    Keeping positive

It seems just when you're feeling on top there's a dark shadow above full of self pity waiting to burst.

Everyone around me says i'm the most positive person they know, and I often wonder if they are just very unobservant or whether i'm the worlds' greatest actress!!

I'm really good at saying 'I'm ok thanks', in reply to my wellbeing as I've done this since I can remember.  Being British means i need to take a university degree in how to say what I really...
