The bed is arriving at my mums, home care says they don't have any carers to give us a service it has been put out to tender??!! Have asked about Marie Curie Nurses for help during the night have been told they will try to offer a few nights! I just hope all this can be sorted so we can get mum out of the hospice to die at home instead of them all haggling over prices!
Mum is getting more and more confused she asked me to give her money today to give her money to pay the man whos digging the...
I'm very glad to say that all reports were good on Thursday at the hospital. My count is down to 225, and the CT scan shows nothing new, and the old problems are shrinking. I might get a summer holiday if I'm lucky this year. The only down side was my blood count, so 2 bags of red stuff as well as chemo to come this week! here's hoping it carries on doing it's job.
We've taken off in the van for the weekend, met friends for luch Friday, went into town this morning and had family pop...
Yesterday I took my partner to Singleton Hospital, in Swansea, so that she could receive radio-therapy to help ease the severe pain in her back. She was barely conscious during the 5 hours that we were there because of all the morphine I had administered in an attempt to ease the pain. While waiting for calculations to be made to work out how much therapy would be needed and while my partner slept peacefully in an alcove of the waiting room, I was able to talk at length to the specialist dealing...
Just sending a card to say a big thank you, for what all the nurses in here have to do.
Listen to the buzzer,'morphine for my pain' , if it wasnt for you guys id be going insain.
Vicky, Claire & Jenny to name but a few, that looked after me for a week or two.
I won't miss the hospital or taking all those pills, but one thing i know for sure the nurses i will.
Thank you is a work, Im sure you hear it everyday, but iv decided to write this as i have alot more i;d like to say.
I was always unsure of what would be in store, sat in here every Friday.....talk about bore!!
I slowly passed that judgement as I observe what you do, you make your patients number one all the year through.
Its such a touchy subject that you deal with everyday, you do it with great professionalism and in your own personal way,
my visits were always entertaining and did give me...
The number of U.S. cancer survivors increased to 11.7 million in 2007, a 19 percent rise from 2001.
About 4.7 million Americans received their cancer diagnosis at least 10 years earlier, according to the Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report, published by the Atlanta-based Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. People living with breast cancer are the largest group and comprised 22 percent of the patients, followed by those with prostate cancer, representing 19 percent of the survivors.

Sorry to sound so misserable but iam feeling realy pxxxxd off today. I am fed up of being alone every night watching mindless t.v.
when jim was alive we would be chatting away, discussing where we would be going tommorow going to see the grand-children doing every day things, untill that vile, hideouse agressive and evil disease enters and destroys lives.

Hi everyone, I have just completed a 4 month course of Taxotere with supporting steroids, duing this time I have put on over 2 stones, my face is very puffy as are my hands and feet. Unfortunately, I have to stay on steroids for the forseeable future. Does anyone know how to reduce these side effects?
In January I was having romantic dinners on the beach in Koh Samui, in February I had a fantastic annual appraisal at work and planning the year ahead with my team, in March on a routine check up my doctor tells me I have a tumour on my tonsil that is probably benign but will need removing.
The recovery from the tonsillectomy has been as long and painful as the doctors predicted. Seriously, if I managed to shower and eat, it was a 'good' day.
I only managed to leave the house once...
