how can things change so quickly

My dad was told on Monday that he has a cancerous polyp in his bowel (if I am honest i expected this from events that happended after various proceedures he had been through) but at the same time we were told he has secondary liver cancer.  We were all stunned.  In this meeting I didnt really take in anything other than the Dr said the liver cancer was terminal.  Since Monday I feel like I am in a living nightmare.  My dad is a very private man and doesnt want to talk about it.  I cant get my head round...

    Good news / Bad news

Finished CT,MRI. and Pet Scans. I've been referred to the Beatson at Gartnavel from Hairmyres. My new Consultant's name is Michael Duff and when I inquired as t why this was taking place I was told it was bacause he has more experience in these more Complex surgery procrdures. I can tell you I wasn't overboard with excitement when I heard that.Still just another slight hiccup I'll need to deal with.

That was the bad news, the good news is I'm going to marry Deirdre, my partner

    chemo postponed again

On Tuesday I was due to have my fourth cycle of chemotherapy. Unfortunately my blood count was too low again and it has been postponed (White Blood Count, Neutrophils and Platelets all low this time).

I was going to be delayed one week, but asked if I could put it off two weeks. It is P's birthday party on the 16th April and I really didn't want to be at the lowest part of the cycle for that. Also, she has her ballet school show coming up. Again, a delay of two weeks suits much better as...

    Bowel Cancer the beginning

    Initial diagnosis

Well, here i am a year or so on from my initial meeting with my doctor when i heard those fateful words 'you have cancer', at first they thought it was lymphoma, and because of my age the doctor organised for me to start fertility treatment straight away, while i waited for a date for a biopsy to be taken to confirm the diagnoses, little did I know that not only was it cancer but it was actually advanced bowel cancer!

When i meet the doctor to hear the results I couldn...

    How Much More

Well what i thought had happened hadnt actually happened.  I thought CLint had received his R-Chop treatment on Friday but actually was informed today when we went down to the hospital that he had only received the R and P part.  Confused I was, but the consultant informed us that his liver function was still not down to where it should be so he cant get the CHO part which is the chemo part until this is rectified!!!

So today he had to get more steriods but this time through an IV for the next 3 days...
