On 9th May 2011, i got the call that changed my life and my families lives forever. It was my Mum, my Dad had collapsed at home and had been rushed to hospital. Despite numerous tests they were unable to determine what was wrong with him. The next morning the hospital rang to tell us he had a severe case of Pneumonia and was in the Critical Care Unit, he also had an extremely low white blood cell count which was preventing him from fighting the illness and they couldn't figure out why until the Bone...
Yesterday was the hardest day of my life. The past week has not been good.
Thursday - Mick attended the Hospice Day Care, I went to pick up 9 year old grandaughter (70 miles away). On arriving home I received a call to say he was coming home on the ambulance bus instead of the normal volunteer's car. At home he told me that the doctor had wanted to admit him to the ward but he'd refused.
Friday - Had a call from nurse at day care to ask how Mick was because the ward wanted to know whether...
Well Ian finished his treatment on June 27th, has been back for follow up but has to wait till end of September for follow up scan and endoscopy.
I feel its back to the start the waiting!!!!!!!!!
Ian is swallowing a bit better, one day all food goes down, then the next none goes down. So one day we feel good and positive and the next not so positive.
He was very lucky and the treatment went well he had hardly any side effects, his hearing has been affected and suffered constipation during the...

I have been with my OH for over two years we are very happy together and moved in together after 6 months. I am 30 and really keen to get married and have children, I think he is too but enjoys winding me up about it.
I am finding more and more playing on my mind what if my dad dies before he walkes me down the aisle, before he meets my children......I really want to tell OH this but don't want to make...
Well thnigs have moved on, dad has NSCLC spread to the ilium and sarcum which is causing pressure on the nerve and causing massive pain in one leg, he starts radiotherapy tomorrow for 5 days to hopefully shring the tumour and reduce the pain but we have been told worse could come first and no benefits for 6 weeks. I hope it isn't too bad as he already has really bad pain - we had the ooh doctor to give a morphine injection on Monday night as he was so bad.

No, I am not a white man from Georgia confessing to being a lesbian from Damascus. When I was diagnosed with cancer, it was some time before deciding to write a blog about my experiences. Consequently I can confess that I have had the surgery already and am currently in that limbo which is the wait for the other therapies to start. I made notes, kept a diary and I shall start from there and by the time we both (I have to assume one reader, right?) will be up to date and my posts will be contemporary...
Well folks we have just returned from a few days away in out motorhome to celebrate another wedding anniversary. We thought I was lucky to get to 40 last year! We met up with some of the friends that were with us when we had to leave our last meet because I was so poorly. They were absolutely amazed to see me walking, and with quite a lot of hair after their last sight of me 8 weeks ago.
We've had a lovely time in the sunshine, and today we even went in the sea for a swim. Gorgeous.
may the...
