Wahay! My radiotherapy and chemotherapy treatment has finished. My last radio session was Wednesday 2nd September.
I have an appointment now for Thursday 15th October at The Christie, when they will be able to tell if the treatment has worked, and if I need anything else doing to me e.g. more treatment/operation?
I feel a bit out of it and have some 'odd' moments, I've got 'burns' as well which aren't very comfortable, but other than that I'm not too bad. :)

Hi everybody, I'm online in hospital, ('doing a Cianti -' lol - some of you will remember that infamous episode!)
I'm on my 4th chemo bag, a bit behind now so won't be out until Saturday. I've been feeling fine, only just started getting heavy thighs from it. I'm on steroids and eating for England. I've eaten more in these last 3 days than I have in the last month! Wahay! May get some boobs back!
I've had 3 radiotherapy sessions, no damage from them yet, may...
I've just received my letter for the scan before my treatment starts. Wednesday 15th July, which will consist of me being 'tattooed'. These marks will be used to set me up for my treatment, so future visits will be quite quick.
Not sure if I find out there and then when my treatment will start, or if I just wait for another letter. Will let you know asap.
Quick note - Tuesday 30th June met with Dr Soe who was lovely. He explained my treatment to me, 5 and a half weeks worth.
Timescale - 1 - 2 weeks I will have another CT scan (ohoh Gastrograffin not agreeable at all!)
At this scan they will tattoo me, (unfortunately I don't get to pick a design, just some dots, lol). The tattoo is so that when I go for my radiotherapy they know which bits to zap (ouch :( )
I will be admitted 7 - 10 days after the scan.
Week 1 I will stay at The Christie and have chemotherapy...
I went for my MRI scan today, not the most pleasant of experiences for the claustrophobic!! If I hadn't lost over a stone it would have been very tight! Plus the music was atrocious, lol.
It wasn't that bad really. I went in feet first, don't think I could have stood it otherwise, after being pushed into a sleeping bag once head first, which really freaked me out. The noises the machine made were really loud and if I wasn't hard of hearing now I think I would be afterwards. It took about half...
Yesterday I was told I have anal cancer, not to be confused with bowel cancer, apparently it's quite rare. Don't know if that's good or bad?
Problems started quite a long time ago, but I had a sigmoidoscopy on 26th March 2008 and was told I had a fissure.
I went for my 1st op on 12th November 2008, a lateral sphincterotomy, and we don't think I had it then, so I'm guessing it occured after 19th December when I felt a new 'rip'.

hello once again. Two days ago i buried a friend andmentioned about my terminal ill mum i was sad and very low and some of you replied i am so greatfull. today i started to consider getting help and that made me sad and another feeling of self loath.
however i discussed issues with my aunt and she reasured me i am doing my mum proud. so iam going to ask for mum some respite care so they can sort out her meds and hydration out which gives me a small break and a chance to recharge my battries and...
Well my Yeti went back to school this morning rather reluctantly, mind you I can't blame him as it was dark, windy and cold. I saw him onto his bus and told him to watch out for flying trees and roof tiles (we live in Scotland where the wind has been very bad) he just looked at me as though I were mad, but I did get I love you so he is forgiven.

Here we go with new year! Just back from Xmas break at Tenerife.Didnt think would get there earlier in year but now 9 months post op and all the changes its brought am feeling good.At hospital for check up in weeks time so bit of worry there so everything crossed.
