Well, I'm done! Arrived at unit at 7.30 this morning and home by 9 this evening. Now in bed and will write more tomorrow. Thanks all for support.

Wow, that must be a record, get plenty of rest & write when you feel up to it. Gentle hugs coming your way
I was just about to set off for my Brachytherapy when the phone rang, it was the hospital. I felt sick - but they were just delaying me by 30 minutes. I'm so wound up this morning I could probably get there without the need for a car>
Hugs again, Barb xx

Thanks - am a bit tender and I agree coughing is rather painful :-) Am still a bit wobbly - I found the pain in the front of my shoulders a bit of a surprise. My heparin jabs hasn't arrived by the time I was sent home last night so my partner bless him has a third round trip of 90 minutes in two days to Northampton General Hospital.
Glad to hear you're back home too -.i've not tried showering yet but did get dressed. Not sure I can get back downstairs either. My right leg.has a mind of its own :-)
Wishing you well on your recovery too!

Hugs Barb and hope the brachy session went well. i get the wound up feefling - my pulse was 99 yesterday pre-theatre and back to normal 58 today. This little beggar seems more likely to take over our minds than our bodies sometimes.
All best for remainder of treatments. Hope doggies well too.

Hi Curly,
Had my first shower today since the op - didn't fancy clambering into the bath before this. All seems to be healing ok and have got the hang of heparin jabs. Bought a spare pair of compression stockings yesterday - can't see them catching on as a fashion item though :-)
My partner is being great. Had a weepy moment this morning - no idea why but I expect some of it is relief and some of it fear. Was taken aback yesterday at how painful the shoulder pain was - hopefully easing now. GP has prescribed Movicol for constipation so am awaiting miracle relief...If it's not one thing it's another :-)
Take care,
Dx
Well done! My shoulder pain has now gone thank goodness and I too had a cry yesterday but I think it’s only to be expected. You sound like you are doing really well. Well done re the injections that’s very impressive. My hands are too shaky to do it myself!
Nurse told me that having a flabby tummy was a benefit when it came to doing the jabs - plenty to aim for between the incisions and avoiding belly button. At last i have a reason to be grateful for my lumpy bit :-)
I'm finding the incision above the belly button the most awkward / uncomfy as elastic of my pants seem to like to settle there!
Take care, Dx
Hi Curly101 & Dreamweaver
Strange, I didn't have any shoulder pain but both of you have suffered from it.
As for the jabs, I injected into the top of my thighs after I couldn't find a bruise-free area to aim for. I read the leaflet for the anticlotting jabs I had, not sure if it was heparin, and it stated ok to do so. check your leaflet. Amazingly I still have bruises and that's now 3 weeks after finishing!
Take care both!
