Hi all I was due to have a full hysterectomy on the 7th September I arrived for the operation was all gowned up when they decided to cancel the op as my heart rate was too high. I have now had ECG number 8 in the space of a few weeks and now on thyroid tablets. I have seen the cardiologist two weeks ago and I am now waiting for a new appointment to have my surgery. this has been going on six months now and I am getting really fed up and stressed. I hate hospitals anyway so have to build myself up for it. I just don't know what to do now. I cant plan a breakaway because of covid not going out much because I don't want to catch it and have to wait longer for my op. I just want it over with now. To cap it all they have put a coil in (I never got on with a coil when I was younger) and now seven weeks later I am still in pain and it's making the pain in my back and tummy worse. sorry to have a moan I just need to express it.
Hi Debbie, so sorry to hear your story. I'm not surprised you want to have a moan, you've got a lot on your plate at the moment. Have you got family or friends to support you? It's such a lot to deal with by yourself. Let's hope that now your cardiology problem is being dealt with your team will be able to organise your op.
All of it is made worse by the Covid situation isn't it, it makes everything seem so bleak. I have had my op and now going through three rounds of radiation therapy and like you I have been afraid to go out for fear of catching it.
I can only offer you a sympathetic ear, and please, rant and vent as much as you want here, we all understand where you're coming from. Have you ever tried yoga or breathing exercises to help with stress levels. Might help a little if you hate hospitals. Take care and hopefully you will soon get a date for your op.

Hi Debbie, Your story resonated a bit with me. I was already on blood pressure tablets and thyroid tablets when I was diagnosed with womb cancer. I thought the blood pressure would rise greatly at the hospital, but it didn't and behaved itself all the time I was in. They found my thyroid was busily multiplying down the back of my throat in the scans, and was advised to see the throat people!! I prepared myself for two operations! Fortunately the throat people were not too concerned, and I was told to forget it unless i couldn't breathe or eat!!!
Like you, I never fancied a coil, and never went down that route. I just hope you are sorted out sooner than you think. xxx
