got back from dr a couple hours ago - he said it was a grade 1 classification and is confident that a hysterectomy will get all of it . he is at the Brigham and women's hospital  dana. Farber division in Boston so I feel like I can trust this good news. he said given my weight 125ib and age 49 (im in fairly good shape) he said surgery should not be difficult. he was so reassuring and said that this is highly curable and common with thickened endrometrium . he said my thickness was obviously too much (yea dug it has cancer in it) but that it isn't off the charts and maybe that plays into the grading? so off to gets surgery within 2 weeks and pray for the best. I Wass so confident walking out and felt like celebrating but then fear really crept in!

  • , well that sounds a lot more reassuring to you, it’s difficult enough to know its cancer without wondering if its spread and the treatment too, It sounds like your Doctor wants to get surgery done pretty quick too which is great, not long a wait. I am glad you felt like celebrating even if only for a moment before the fear kicked in but one thing we all like to share is a bit of good news, there is too much bad news about cancer so we celebrate every little bit of    good news in this whole nightmare. Also as your Doctor says general fitness does help with the recovery from the surgery and obviously nowadays there is different types of surgical procedure depending on the individual some have open surgery where others have keyhole surgery for a hysterectomy, i am amazed what can be done theses days. Keep asking questions about it, lots of experience here about the surgery and other treatments, my hysterectomy was done half and half as i like to say as they only had two very small incisions where they went in with the surgical tools and another incision in my bellybutton down a bit to remove all the hysterectomy tissue, it was done this way because I had a bulky womb. Mine was stage 1a grade 2 but I didn’t have any extra treatment which was fantastic and I celebrated that fact.

enjoy any good news you deserve it and sending you a gentle hug Hugging

    Hi meb70,

That's great news ! Your doctor sounds very confident & reassuring & it's really positive that you are in good shape as this helps during the recovery period. I know that feeling of celebrating & then WHAM the fear kicks in I think that's when it all becomes far more real, the good news in all of this is they are moving forward onto surgery within 2 weeks I was filled with dread at this point, but I kept telling myself this has to come out the sooner the better.

Once my surgery was done it was a massive relief & as GBear said it's amazing what the do nowadays. Keep asking questions as we have all had some kind of surgery for this & it really was not as bad as I thought it was going to be, so for now be kind to yourself, try & keep yourself occupied & eat well & look after your health in general.

    Hi meb70,

I know it's hard to eat when you are nervous but your tummy needs food & that sick feeling will carry on regardless. I know this is so very hard my love, try smaller amounts of food , maybe a cracker & coffee or a biscuit or a light salad  ??

I guarantee you the more you keep talking & asking questions the more familiar things will become, & yes I had my surgery in April 2019 & I am doing GREAT !!!
