Hi everyone... should I be alarmed . I’ve just started spotting 10 weeks after my op. I’ve been perfectly fine up until now.
Hi tippybailey,
I'm new here and a bit earlier in the process than you so I can't speak from experience but from what I've read from the others there can be a few reasons for spotting which aren't necessarily alarming. I have found that waiting for answers is really hard though so I just wanted to offer some middle of the night comfort and let you know someone else is here.
Apparently distraction is key - thanks heavens for Netflix.

Hi Tippybailey,
I haven't had this problem, but have read on here of a few ladies having it, and usually it turns out to be part of the healing process. I think I would contact your CNS and ask her. She might get you into clinic to be checked out.
I went back to the hospital to be checked 4 days after getting out!!! I had some very weird bladder happenings, but all was fine. They were very good with me and on a Saturday morning!!! xxx
Hi Tippybailey,
I personally did not have spotting after surgery or during recovery but they did speak to me about it should it occur. 10 weeks into recovery not everything is completely healed, which is why I was told 12 weeks for complete recovery, have you been over exerting, lifting anything too heavy, pushing round a lawn mower for example ?? All these things & many others can lead to spotting as my Oncologist informed me, perhaps you are over doing things a bit ??
I would call your nurse if poss & have a chat, keep an eye on the spotting & slow down & rest a bit. It's probably nothing major as my sister had the same issue & it was purely due to doing too much too soon as she did not take it easy for the whole 12 weeks. I hope this helps you a little bit & let us know how you are doing.
Love & Hugs xx
Thank you for your reply , I will ring Monday x
Hi Tippybailey, don't these things always happen when it's the middle of the night or the weekend!? Thought I'd just share my experience here, I am 4 weeks post op, keyhole surgery. I've had no blood at all, until three days ago when I was just going for a wee before bedtime, looked down and the loo was full of fresh red blood. Freaked out, put some protection on and went to bed to lie flat afraid to move. , I had to get up in the night to go to the loo again, more blood. But after that it stopped. Phoned my nurse and she said it was probably my internal stitches dissolving but to keep an eye on it. No further problems thank goodness, although she did ring me to check I was OK.
Trouble is, although we look healed on the outside, we can't see what's going on inside. Like Just65 said, maybe you've just been doing a little to much? Fingers crossed.
Hi Jigsaw33,
Agree with you the inside healing cannot be seen & takes longer so I cannot stress enough about taking things easy it's hard not to but the long term implications can be far worse. Hope you are recovering well & getting plenty of rest also as well as eating healthily & getting plenty of sleep.
Love & Hugs
