Greetings everyone,
Yesterday, I had my first appointment with Oncologist. I want to thank you all for helping me through those hard waiting days. I was told based on pathology report after my biopsy on July 31 I have Endometrium carcinoma grade 1 and schedule a liproscopic surgery on 8/28.
Please help me understand what is grade 1.
Thank you,
Ic
HI Suffer1
The grade gives an idea of how aggressive the cancer cells are. Grade 1 is the least aggressive type and grade 3 the most, so the fact that yours is grade 1 is really good news for you.
People here will have lots of hints about how to cope with surgery and recovery. Laparoscopic surgery is a great invention and recovery is pretty quick - I was 76 when I had mine and was amazed how things had changed since I had a c-section very many years before!

Thank you so very much for your respond. It meant so much. I am in a foggy state of mind these days. Most of the times explanations of things are very hard for me to catch on and remembered. I am grateful to find this group. It helped me so much through my hard waiting days for 1st appointment.
Thank you very much.
Hi Suffer1, I found it was helpful to take a notebook and pencil to appointments with a list of my questions, then I could write the answers down too so I could read them again at home. It is hard to remember everything isn't it? There is a lot of information to take in and sometimes it takes a while to sink in. Have you been assigned a specialist nurse (CNS)? They would be a good point of contact for any questions. I wish you all the best.
Hi , I agree with the lovely messages the other ladies have given and yes grade 1 is the lowest grade terminology for grading cancer cells it means there slow growing and this I hope is a reassurance for you at this time. It would be really helpful for you to write down any questions you have for whenever you speak to your consultant or clinical nurse speacialist (CNS) I assume you have been introduced. A note book to write down the answers will also help deal with the memory problems. Writing all your questions down helps to remember everything you want to know because we all know that when your dealing with the diagnosis our minds go into shock, and we can't remember to ask things, it sounds so simple but it happens. Everyone here will do everything we can to answer questions based on our experience, lots of combined knowledge, your certainly not alone and I am glad that you are finding the site helpful.
