Hi All,
Am actually posting to get insight for my mother. She is in her late 70’s so post mena and has in the last 6 months has had a lumpectomy and radiotherapy for oestrogen sensitive breast cancer (caught early). He uterus is showing as abnormally high growth, and only been on tamoxifen for 4 months.
Any advice, insight would be valued. Anyone been in the same position? Thanks in advance
Hi Lex,
Sorry your mum has had this. My own daughter had the same diagnosis at age 35. She also had chemo because of her young age, and was advised to have her ovaries out so she could stop taking tamoxifen. She couldn't face it then, so waited two years, then had them out. That was 6 years ago now.
Your Mum will be different because she is through the menopause, so I'm not sure what her solution to it would be. I was 72 when I had a hysterectomy by keyhole, and it was not too bad. I was pleasantly surprised at my recovery.
Modern science is wonderful these days and I'm sure they will have a solution! xxxx
