Good morning ladies! Hope this finds you all well. I'm having chemo and have kept off having any alcohol at all. I was wondering whether having a small glass of low alcohol lager would be safe? Have any of you indulged in a little drinky whilst having chemo? Any advice or telling off would be appreciated!

Hi nannasuki they do say a little of what you fancy does you good! According to cancer research website small quantities may be safe but check with your CNS as it may interfere with your chemo depending what drugs they are. Low alcoholic lager doesn't have much so hope you can enjoy this little luxury!
Hi Nannasuki, I asked my consultant the question about wine. She said if I could tolerate it and enjoy it then yes. I used to wait for day 10 to roll round and see how I felt, unfortunately I can only drink red now, the chemo has changed my taste in a lot of things. Strange isn't it ? Do check but just thought I would pass on what I was told by my oncologist.

Thanks Little Critter, maybe I will be able to have a small glass of wine occasionally to help get through this nightmare we're all experiencing. I will check with my consultant just to make sure.
Stay safe and well

Morning ladies! My consultant phoned me yesterday and approved my next chemo - yeah!! She also said I could have the odd glass of wine or lager - double yeah! Tonight I'm going to enjoy a lovely glass of rose wine.
I hope you all are keeping well. I know it's hard to stay positive and not worry (I would get an honors degree in worrying) but I'm really trying to focus on nice things and I'm not constantly watching or listening to the news.
Have a good weekend and sending you all lots and lots of love

Hi Nannasuki,
I would have thought a glass of wine would do you the world of good, but am not a medic, so didn't like to say so!!!
Love xxxxxx
With most things its in moderations, at least you can enjoy the odd glass of wine without worrying now , you did the right thing in asking
