Hoi everybody, I'm post op laparoscopic hysterectomy and bilateral salpingno-oophorectomy (24/12/19), I still can't lie flat, and have lower back ache if I stand for more than 15 mins. I'm oké walking for 20 mins before I need to stop. How did others manage please?
Morning Pasadena, I was well on the road to recovery after 2 months so unable to help with any coping mechanisms. Have you reported this to your team? Maybe they can suggest something? Don't suffer in silence, get it checked out.
Hope you get some advice and relief soon,
Love Nannasuki x
Morning right back at you Nannasuki,
Thank you for replying. I'm wondering if I am over worrying because logically everyone recovers differently, health and age being factors and zo. The times we have contacted our support nurse we either get an answering machine or an admin worker, in either case, nobody ever gets back to us. I'm due a check-up in April so will totaaly raise it all if I'm not any better. Thanks again grs. Pasadena x
Hi Lesley,
Thank you for replying. Getting a reply from the support nurse is a tad difficult as we can never get hold of her! it is always an answering machine or the admin. I have got a check-up in April so will follow up then. good luck with your recovery.
Hi Pasadena, so sorry you're not getting the support from your CNS. Although I do find it difficult to get through to her at times, she does phone back eventually and she's been fantastic! Would it be worth seeing your GP as they can perhaps get answers when we can't.
Take care
Love Nannasuki xx
Hi i had attempted keyhole then abdominal hysterectomy and bilateral salpinoophrectomy altjough a little tired i too am knackered after walking short distance. Frustrating also my diagnosis was ? due to tamoxifen. Any others have this. 4 weeks post op no follow up still not got biopsy results... presuming no news is good news
Hi Pasadena are you due a checkup anytime soon? If not and you can't get any joy from your CNS I suggest ringing your consultants secretary and ask her to inform your consultant. 3 months is a long time the whole idea of keyhole is that it's not so intrusive and that recovery is faster. My advice is not to suffer in silence.
Hi I had the same LAVH-BSO as you but on 14/1/20. I've been feeling fully recovered for a couple of weeks now and am back to normal activities. I would definitely contact your consultant for advice as it doesn't seem right that you are still experiencing these problems. Did you have a good level of fitness before the op? Have you been doing your pelvic floor exercises?
xx
Hi Pasadena
i had the same operation as you on the 14th January, I’ve never suffered the issues you have. I felt fine after a couple of weeks and I am now into my 3rd week back at work on a phased return. You shouldn’t have to suffer like that, contact your GP if you can’t get your CNS
Hope you are better soon x
Hi Nanasuki, sorry for so late to reply, but various things have got in the way, things have improved - I can now lie flat and was walking much further...although that has come to a bit of the halt now due to Covid-19. Still I can potter in the garden so all is not lost. How goes it with you?
