I had my opp for stage1b last April, followed by brachytherapy in June. I'm currently suffering such awful fatigue, joint pain. It's hard work to do everyday things. I went back to work full time in September, I felt I had too as single. My daughter thinks maybe this is why I feel so awful now. Please can anyone relate to this. Thankyou
Hi Rossanna, noticed no one had replied to your post. Did you have the long Brachy or the short quick ones ? I had 3 short ones along with other treatment, I would imagine that it could be something to do with your treatment, or that you might have an underlying health problem that is totally unrelated? Perhaps a trip to your GP? They might suggest some blood tests and see if they can figure out what's going on. Sorry not more help but hopefully your Doc can be of help to you. If not then I would give your CNS a call perhaps ?
Sorry you are struggling,

Thanks, I had 4 short ones. I've been to Dr's today, as feeling so weary. They are being thorough and have done a full blood test, wii see what that comes back with xx
Hi Rosanna I had brachy May last year and I still have some fatigue but not as much. Maybe going back to work full time is too much. I tried but couldn't manage it. Maybe a talk with one of the Macmillan advisors about employment and finances maybe able to give you some options. The treatments we have take their toll so your body may be telling you to rest. Take care Dawn xx
Thanks for reply, I think maybe you are right. Think I was in a bit of denial how much I've been through. My employer didn't want to do a phased return and being single I went back. I do have my finances sorted a bit now. I work at a garden centre so quite physically demanding too.

Heya,
Just a note, Tough Luck to your employer if they don't want to do a phased return. You have rights that are protected by law, which means if you want a phased return then they have to give you one. If you need to go off again to recuperate from having to go back too soon and too hard, then do so. Then before you go back, make sure to call the Macmillan workers rights team so you know what the law is, then arrange a meeting with HR and OH and come up with a plan that will allow you to go back without making yourself ill again.

I have no medical training, everything I post is an opinion or educated guess. It is not medical advice.
I ended up not going back to work after a year off sick. It’s still early for you, I’m not surprised you’re still very fatigued.
Take care x
My treatment finished last March and still get very tired now with not sleeping properly on a night time. I did phased return last sept ( I'm a teaching assistant ) then went back full time after xmas I'm off again now as Doctor's think I have a hernia but also I don't really want to work in a school anymore and was getting myself worked up about it. I'm thinking of handing my notice in but not sure if we can afford for me to do this. Xx

Think I have a hernia plus it was stressing me out don't feel I can cope going back to work. I may hand in my notice not sure we can afford that tho. Xx

I'm paying for it now, I was under pressure as just me to pay the bills, wish now I had taken longer but the situation last September wasn't so straightforward x
I'm so tired, my boss keeps nit picking at me, and I ended up having a row with her she's been humiliating me all this week about my work... Just got to end of my tether with it... After 17 years ofervice as well
