Hello Ladies.
Over the months I have had so much help from this site and thank you! I have now had 5 sessions of radiotherapy, 20 more to go. I was very nervous at first, now I know what to expect,It is painless as you ladies told me it would be.it only takes about 4 minutes for the treatment, I am having nausea and diarrhoea, I have tablets for this. I dont think everyone having treatment suffers with this. I am just counting off the days. I seem to get days when I am crying and cant stop but only when I am alone, I try and be really strong when anyone is around.I just wish I had a bit more energy, I am sleeping at odd times. On the 27 January my radio therapy will be finished. That's not to long for me to cope with it.
I do hope you all have better health in the new year. From adeliene x
Hi Adeliene,
Well done - it's good to hear you're coping so well with the treatment. I think everyone finds it all a bit tiring so do rest whenever you can. Just remember to drink plenty of water as well.
it's surprising how quickly the time goes, soon you will have done two weeks, then three and after that most of it will be behind you.
I hope the rest of the New Year will be good for you .

Hi Adeliene you are right, the treatment is completely painless and quick, however I too suffered with nausea and diarrhoea from day 3, it does affect us all differently but the medication given by the hospital helps. I made a chart and put it on the wall in front of where I sit to watch TV and crossed off each day so I could see that I was getting through them quite quickly! It is tiring, I had a 4 or 5 hour round trip to the hospital each day and I have M.E. and fibromyalgia so had tiredness to begin with before I even started the treatment! But the days soon pass and before you know it you will have completed the treatment. Expect to continue to feel tired for a while after you have finished though as the treatment continues to work in our bodies. Take care, and crying is good too, better out than in!
Hugs, Lesley xx
Thanks for your message, I must get myself a radar key for the disabled toilets, I get hospital transport. my journey is 3 hours and sometimes the driver has to stop for me, I stay in the hostel tomorrow night and home for new years day. Once the holidays are over i will stay 5 nights and home weekends.Look after yourself and hope you keep well. adeliene x
