Hi everyone,
I've not logged in for a while, but sadly I find myself here again asking for help.
I had my hysterectomy in May, stage 1 grade 1, with conservation of ovaries, and I've been spotting every month for the least couple of months, like a period. Yesterday I was in theatre to remove the granulation tissue at the vaginal cuff that they had identified, and they said it's been sent for histology. Now I am freaking scared that it's going to come back positive, I can't help thinking that since it's been bleeding every month it's some kind of endometrial tissue that they missed out when doing the hysterectomy. Is this even possible??
I was told it would be a local anesthesia, very straight forward, but they ended up sedating me and I was in theatre for over an hour. Plus I got discharged without seeing the doctors as they were stuck on a long case after me. No idea what happened in there! So I'm in bed rest today freaking out!!
Oh dear. When will this ever end??!
Sorry for the big fat moan! :-(
FMA, So sorry you are going through this. I'm in a similar but different limbo (just posted here under "scanxiety" ) . Waiting for results . It stinks. I feel somewhat paralysed too. I'm contemplating whether to ring my CNS before the weekend kicks in to see if she can make sure the radiologist does their report quickly. I know my MDT meetings happen on Mondays and results usually have to be discussed there before being fed back to patients. Why don't you ring your CNS and discuss how you are feeling. Hopefully he or she can advocate for you and speed things along.
Stay strong . Pm me if you like xx Nan

Oh no your passion sounds just like mine, too! Ove had horrendous pain in my tailbone and right side of my bum!
Did they keep your ovaries too or were they removed during your hysterectomy?
Good luck xxx
FMA,. I've had my tailbone passion () for over a year now, it's always worse after prolonged sitting and originally I put it down to (intentionally) losing weight and having a bony bum lol. No real cause has been found for it hence me
eping mentioning it at my follow up appts. I don't have any vaginal vault problems though . They still think it's prob musculo skeletal. My scans seem to have highlighted instead some unclear anomaly
on my small bowel so I'm not sure it's even related to my pains or not. It's probably one of those random incidental things they seem to find when they start looking inside
Hope you can plan some things in the mean time to distract you although I know it's hard. Having a wobble is normal. I'm looking forward to dressing up the house for Xmas this weekend . Hope you feel better soon after your biopsy..I tried to ring my csn today. She's out of office til Monday... sigh!!

Hi Florine,
Im sorry that you are back to anxiously waiting on results, I had some random bleeds and pains and had an MRI scan to check me out but it was a six month wait for the scan and a six-ish week wait for results, I totally get where you are coming from, even though they told me it was likely nothing to worry about (which it was) I still couldn't help but think of the worst case scenario.
it helps to stay distracted and do other things, hopefully this time of year is busy for you. It also helped me knowing that whatever happened, there is usually always treatment options.
Your CNS / or consultants secretary might be able to get you an update from your procedure to help whilst you wait.
lots of love and a big hug

I had biopsy of granulation six months after hysterectomy found at checkup. The consultant said at the time she was sure that's all it was but I had to wait weeks for the result because it was just before Christmas 2016. By the time I had my next checkup it had cleared up. I never had any symptoms. It sounds as if they've removed all the infected tissue. As your cancer was caught early chances are that its just infected tissue but I can understand your worry. It's not an uncommon occurence I was told.
They found a slight thickening on my bowel at a checkup scan a couple of years ago, they gave me the choice of having a sigmoidoscopy or waiting to see if it was still there at my next one. I chose the latter and it had gone.
