Good news. I dont know why they make you wait so long. Here in the states it is alot quicker. The dr told my family right after surgery he felt it was state 1A as they do a preliminary test during surgery and then 2 days later they called me with the pathology report and it was state 1 A

    Dear ladies

I'm thinking of all you of you today who are waiting for test results.  I'm recovering well from surgery, each day I get a little bit stronger. The main problem is tiredness... I'm having a nap every afternoon!

I attended clinic yesterday for my histology results.  Tests confirmed Stage 1a, Grade 1, surgery has got rid of cancer and no need for any further treatment. I'm very grateful for the amazing care I've received by the medical team.  The news hasn't really sunk in yet.

In terms of surgical menopause 2 and half weeks post surgery I've still not had any noticeable symptoms yet,  which I'm surprised about.  I feel like I'm waiting for it to hit!

Thanks all for your support. I've found this group such a huge help.

    Xx

  • Wonderful news. I  was stage 1a too but have been put on the patient initiated follow up, so I only get an appointment if I  have a  problem. Sometimes I feel I would have liked  to have a follow-up!  I think it depends on your hospital and area, I  am in Leicestershire.

You must be so relieved  with the news and that the waiting is over. I  am feeling myself again as far as possible, I  know the cancer diagnosis  has changed me but I  won't  let it stop me living my life.

    Hi all you lovely ladies!

well, back from Christie’s. Histology showed it’s a 1a not a 1b. Lymph nodes showed negative. But because the cancer is aggressive a level 3 I have to have 2 sessions of brachytherapy overnight each one as preventative precaution in case any stray cells anywhere. Not looking forward. Can anyone advise what I have to look forward to? Take care! X Carol

Glad it's staged 1A not 1B but sorry to hear that you've got brachytherapy to face. Still I think it's better to be safe and knock this unwanted intruder out of the building completely. You don't waSheep anything lurking. I can't help you with the ins and outs of brachytherapy as I've never had it but I know there are two types, high dose and low dose. I believe if you are having it overnight it wiSheep be the high dose one and several ladies who I hope will be along shortly to help you will share their experience and tips to help you..I think I remember reading the lying still in one position wasSheephe hardest part as it affected the back so there will hopefully be plenty of tips on that. You are in my thoughts and prayers carol. Take care. Love lamb.x lamb Sheep

So glad to hear good outcomes from mimi, baker and carolina too. More happy dances. Maybe we should do that conga! Baker, I had open surgery too and was napping all over the place. Still early days for you. Take it easy and listen to your body is my advice. You've got to heal inside too which takes much longer.  Take care girls and onwards and upwards..slowly! Love lamb.xx

Thanks little lamb. Do you know what? Whatever it takes to rid my body completely of the evil intrusion I’m up for it!! Just want some semblance of normality & to not have the constant worry that I have endured for the past months ( as have everyone else!) onwards & upwards I say!!!!! Carol
